Yeah, I still think it's way too optimistic to think he's actually going down.

But he will have a lot of hilarious meltdowns in the next 2 years when the Democrat controlled House won't let him have his way.

Speaking to host Nicolle Wallace on Monday, Eli Stokols—a White House reporter for the Los Angeles Times—said that concrete evidence of wrongdoing by Trump could make continued Republican support for the president untenable.

Republican lawmakers are growing increasingly nervous as special counsel Robert Mueller’s net closes around President Donald Trump and his inner circle, even considering dumping the president to save the party, according to a guest on MSNBC’s Deadline: White House program.

“There is some understanding, I think, inside the White House of just how dark it may be getting,” the reporter said, adding that there were “private conversations people there are having with Republicans on the Hill who are starting to be concerned.”

Stokols continued, noting that Republican lawmakers “are starting to tell me privately—some of them—if there’s obvious evidence, the bottom’s going to fall out. They’re not going to be able to stand by this White House and that’s a looming problem for the president.”
It's kinda starting to happen?

And the Time person of the year is:

Killed, imprisoned and attacked journalists

I have no idea what the heck it is ya'll think might be happening. Another bad news cycle? The most sternest of disapproval ever? The most senior GOP official in government just said he doesn't care if Trump committed felonies.

I'll believe it's starting to happen when I see a significant drop in Trump's approval rate. If it stays around 40%, I simply don't see the endgame for any politician who abandons Trump.

I think most GOP politicians wish they could dump Trump, and have felt that way for a while, but their hands are fully tied because they've created a base full of mouth breathing Trump worshipers. Anyone who turns on Trump signs their own death warrant for their next primary, unless the people turn on Trump as well.

He's not getting impeached, nor is he going to jail, soon or further in the future.

And as a result, the illusion that our institutions of government and justice are anything but a sham will continue to erode.

Which, in the very long run, might be a good thing I guess? Catalyst for real change and whatnot? Gonna suck getting there though, especially for people who are not white and/or male and/or wealthy.

Basically this.

Him going down absolutely requires Fox and the right wing AM radio derposphere to turn on him. Then, maybe things will happen. Maybe.

something like 350 million people in this country and roughly a dozen are vying for the white house chief of staff position, if our pathological liar of a president is to be believed
12-11-2018 , 11:04 AM
Maybe if Nancy and McConnell cut some kind of backroom deal to cut bait it might happen, but that’s a stretch. I think we basically see two more years of Trump demolishing the legitimacy of our institutions and the Republican brand.

Ahem... you guys are giving way too much credit. More than 10 clearly means between 0 and 10 with the upper range being very generous.

I'm not saying I want Orrin Hatch to die but I won't have any sads when Orrin Hatch dies

12-11-2018 , 11:17 AM
Let’s see, there’s

John Voight
Kid Rock
The Rock
Diamond
Silk
Scaramucci
Hannity
Vince McMahon
Ted Neugent
Clint Eastwood (is he still alive?)
and Stitches the rapper, that’s easily over ten people who might be up for the job.

You can add me to that list. It's a 6 figure job, right? Hell, I'd do it.

It's a sucker bet. You'd have to lawyer up, like, immediately, as soon as you walk out of HR offices. You'd wind up poorer than if you had never taken the job.

I absolutely want Orrin Hatch to die. I don’t want anyone to murder him, but the world will improve substantially when he isnt part of it.
