Well, help me out, because Brown is to the left of HRC in pretty much every way. Obama too. And yet you voted Trump.

I mean it simply could be that no one liked Hillary.

I took a ride on the Trump Train, if I don’t like the destination I’ll get off at the next stop at the corner of 2018 and Democracy and take the Blue Train back.
even if the next train driver promises tax cuts?

What if the Blue train doesn't take you back?

We were talking about you, not people generally.

Are you saying you voted Trump because you'd prefer to have a beer with him than with Hillary?

And what's there to like more about Trump than about Hillary?

At this point trumpkins are simply not allowed to use the wait and see or lack of information defense for supporting Trump.

At this point if you support him it's because you SUPPORT him.

There is a well documented and somewhat weird trend that a significant portion of people will retroactively say they voted for the winner of an election. Oddly, or obviously actually, this hasn't happened with Trump.

Among Americans who say they voted in the 2016 election, 46 percent say they voted for Hillary Clinton and 43 percent for Trump

btw. Some post election polls show that people voted for Obama by nearly 2:1 in 2008 and Bush crushing in 2000.

There are plenty of double Obama, then Trump voters in the Midwest.

Victor... you’re from Ohio. Just look at the Youngstown area.

It's because you insist that you voted for Obama twice despite an extensive written record contrary.

You guys are way over thinking this. You aren't going to find logical explanations to Awval, he's just the political equivalent of a random button clicker. Too dumb to realize his own ignorance and unable to think critically about anything. He just voted for daddy because he liked the words that came out of daddy's mouth; whether it was the racist words or the other words doesn't really matter because he's an idiot and not worth discussing.

You literally gave my undertitle when a CLE suburban polling location attempted to bar me from voting for Obama because I rented and my driver's license didn't match the polling record.

You know I voted for Obama.

Go pull up the 2012 Election Night thread.

Sure, I voted for Ron Paul in the 2008/2012 primaries. Because, like this is 2+2 and anarchocapitalism. That's what we did here. But I voted for Obama in the general. And although I liked McCain -- the MAVERICK -- once the economy crashed in September, well, that was that. And **** RMoney and his hedge fund Bain Capital.

And here ya go.

Trump won those states because there are people who voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012 voted for TRUMP in 2016.

I think the first part at least is true and consistent with most human behavior. Liking Trump comes first and then constructing a rationale, in this case based on taxes, comes second. Addressing why he likes Trump is at least interesting or entertaining enough for people wasting here.

Chart should be titled " a measure of just how stupid republicans are"

Those people, in rural Ohio and Wisconsin and Michigan.... aren't Republican.

They voted for Trump. In spite of his red GOP "R" next to his name.

Look at that Southeastern part of Ohio. It is democratic. Coal mining. Factory towns.

And if/when Trump doesn't deliver back their Midwestern factory jobs. And America isn't made GREAT AGAIN. Then the GOP gains in the Midwest will be given back to the Democrats.

I'm trying to explain this to the vast Atlantic/Pacific coastal posters here (and you too Clovis, you Canadian Mountie).

I agree with this somewhat.

People do/did like Trump. His lack of political correctness. His zingers. His one-liners.

For now, people will justify Trump's actions.

But eventually, if he doesn't deliver jobs, if the factory workers' lives don't get better, if the upper middle class doesn't get their $39/week tax cut, if the white working class have to watch their children fight in Korea, or lose their insurance, he will lose his support, his Congress, and his re-election bid.

If he delivers coal jobs?

There is a better chance of Mensa making him lifetime president.
