Under no definition is Long Island Upstate. I lived in NYC for 10 years and never heard anyone refer to it as such. Long Island was always referred to as Long Island.

Even the link you provide says as much - "the broadest usage of the term Upstate New York excludes only New York City and Long Island, which are always considered to be part of Downstate New York."

For real, let's talk about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Right.

Long Island to NYCers is "out east" or "the island'.

Upstate is basically anything north of the Bronx.

Source: I grew up on Long Island and also lived in NYC. Oh also, it's "on Long Island", not "in".

kthnx.

So they 100% get away with everything. Won't hurt them a bit next year. ****ing America, man.

No one counts Staten Island in anything for any reason ever.

Yeah, but Trump and their own incompetence in otherwise governing will hurt them.

Donald Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon has called the president’s senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner a “cuck” and a “globalist” during a time of high tension between the two top aides, several Trump administration officials told The Daily Beast.

Question: Assuming (and I know this is a long shot given the D/R split of the senators up for reelection in 2018) that the Democrats become the majority in the Senate in the midterms, is there anything that would stop them from delaying a hypothetical early 2019 SC vacancy for two years?

will they kiss and make up like him and reincey tho?

To bring the geographic regions of NY discussion to a close, I did some matherizing with the 2016 results, and if you take away all 5 boroughs + Nassau and Westchester counties, Trump wins the state. So we can all be right depending on how you chose to nit up definitions, and everybody gets a participation trophy.

yeah, why not remove more than half the state's population for a meaningless point about statistics.

106 house dems with every republican voted for HR1363, cliffs, makes corp donations go up from 5M to 10M and they don't have to tell shareholders either. That's the entire bill, just in case you were still wondering if every R and a good chunk of D's weren't still corrupt as all hell. My D rep voted for, so hopefully I get to vote against in primary because **** this ****. (ofc, I expect any challenger to be corrupt as hell too, **** politics)

Also, trump's budget pulled the amtrak funding, so 220 cities gonna lose passenger trains. America first, own a car or **** you.

Cummings either said "You'll go down in history" and trump is so stupid he took it differently or he just mixed up black people or he just flat out lied because **** why not.

It wasn't a meaningless point about statistics, it was a meaningless point about the political leanings of upstate NY, which then became a meaningless discussion about what is and isn't "upstate", and is now a meaningless digression about how meaningless it all is.

So now it goes back to how it always was, a simple majority. If 61 votes were always required Clarence Thomas wouldn't be on the bench.

Lawn Guyland isn't upstate. And I know people who don't really consider Staten Island part of New York.

i'm trying to think of the scenario where jared is indeed a cuck, and idk who else would be banging ivanka if not her dad. so, kind of a sick burn on the capo di tutti capi (who prizes loyalty over everything, including results), i hope he doesn't read about this during the 6 hours a day he has set aside to read news reports about himself

i guarantee he would never say that **** about putin's son-in-law. trump is a joke even within his inner circle
