In their letter to Grassley, the Judiciary Democrats said Sessions "has not explained why he failed to come forward and correct the record before reports of his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak became public, why there was a delay in recusing himself until those public disclosures, and why he only recused himself with respect to campaign-related investigations and not Russian contacts with the Trump transition team and administration."

A written response from Sessions, which he has promised, is not sufficient in light of "the seriousness of this matter," they added.

Soon after, Grassley issued a statement that he would not call Sessions back.

“Attorney General Sessions did the right thing by recusing himself, and he did exactly what he said he’d do regarding potential recusals when he was before our committee,” Grassley said. “It’s unfortunate that the Democrats didn’t even have the decency to give him an opportunity to clear up confusion to the statement in writing.”

Justice Department spokesman Peter Carr said, however, that Sessions would address the issues the Democrats raised along with revised testimony expected on Monday.

“In light of the letter received from Senators late this afternoon, the Attorney General will respond to their questions along with his amended testimony on Monday," Carr said by email.

Tower was targeted, it was done legally. In other words the DoJ got a warrant, based on probable cause, to tap Trump's communications.

My point is it doesn't matter if the conversations were in Trump Tower. If they were with foreign agents they fall under FISA anyway.

Just a reminder, Presidents don't order wiretaps. Obama didn't have the original idea to wiretap Trump Tower. That order came from somewhere in the bureaucracy

Notice how a little girl brought here from Argentina at 7 years old is a "rule-breaker" and therefore "has to go, that's just the law." But when the Attorney General of the United States perjures himself before the Senate and the American people, that's no big deal and people call it a witch hunt. That's called applying a double standard to people based on their color. Or in other words we are going back to a (more severe) caste system in this country.

Listened to the podcast Intercepted and Clint Watts, a counter terrorism expert, said one thing to look out for is the White House starting to form "alternative" intelligence committees, etc like Bush did when the CIA wouldn't give him the intelligence he wanted for Iraq so he formed alternative information gathering committees out of the DoD who did give him the information he wanted.

So the first leaked DHS document said that country of origin itself wasn't a useful indicator, undercutting support for the Muslim ban. A new DHS leaked document uncuts the rational for the ban in the first place, to give the DHS time to tighten up their vetting process.

The new document says most radicalization of immigrants occurs years after they've been here and there's not an easy way to vet someone for something they might do years in the future.
