There should be no surprise if it turns out Trump & Co. leaked the names.

Canadian here. When you guys write things like "we're doomed" it's not just hyperbole is it? How bad do you guys think things are going get?

For those who have been writing and calling their congresscritters, there is one other thing we can do.

Contact the press. ABC, NBC, cbs, fox. Inform them that until they start issuing real challenges as journalists to the administration that we will boycott their programing. Hit them in their wallet. Make them ask real questions. Do not let the press get away with having these people duck questions.

Dogs and cats living together.

On the low end of the scale we have the national embarrassment of president Trump, who may be forcibly removed from office before he does serious damage. On the high end we have thermonuclear annihilation. It's a big range.

Bad enough that I've been legitimately considering if I should put my home for sale, and in the meantime trying to figure out if I can legally get my family into Canada. Was hoping my Grandfather having been born in Quebec would help, but apparently that doesn't matter.

well democracy is dead. so this country is now authoritarian. and it will only get worse. so, I figure in about 10 years we will be close to stalinist soviet union.

and with all the trade wars and other bs, the economy is clearly gonna fall apart.

so pretty bad. but it will be ok for a few years.

I don't think we are doomed. I'm fairly sure you are about to witness the first President of US in our lifetimes get evicted or a full fledged culture war erupt and business leaders affected by it will speak up.

Politico 3/10/16 - Trump defends comments on Tiananmen Square, Putin

Donald Trump still thinks the Chinese government showed “strength” when they killed more than 200 people to crush pro-democracy student protests in 1989 — but he's not saying he agrees with what the regime did.

“That doesn’t mean I was endorsing that,” Trump said. “I said that was a strong, powerful government. They kept down the riot, it was a horrible thing.”

Trump told Playboy in a 1990 interview: "When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak."

WASHINGTON—The Department of Homeland Security today announced that it is continuing its implementation of the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 with the addition of Libya, Somalia, and Yemen as three countries of concern, limiting Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals who have traveled to these countries.
Quote:
Last month, the United States began implementing changes under the Act. The three additional countries designated today join Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria as countries subject to restrictions for Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals. Under the new law, the Secretary of Homeland Security may waive these restrictions if he determines that such a waiver is in the law enforcement or national security interests of the United States. Such waivers will be granted only on a case-by-case basis. As a general matter, categories of travelers who may be eligible for a waiver include individuals who traveled to these countries on behalf of international organizations, regional organizations, and sub-national governments on official duty; on behalf of a humanitarian NGO on official duty; or as a journalist for reporting purposes
if you were wondering why those nations were singled out, please note the date of the press release.

wow this is a novel idea. it may even be worthwhile. I really dunno.

I do know that calling congressppl and other elected officials does absolutely eff all so its a complete waste of time and just lol to even think about.

but ya, complaining to the press is def something new.

but really, until guns and revolution start getting discussed, I dont have much hopel

The big flaw in the Constitution has always been the executive enforcing judicial orders, so if the courts tell the executive to stop doing something there's nobody above them if they just ignore that order.

So here we go. We're about to find out how bad it'll get.

lol this guy on CNNi is saying obama argued to the supreme court that courts shouldn't second guess presidents actions on immigration and national security. thanks obama

I just don't understand what the strategy here is other than mashing buttons.

With all the strongman economic populist crap the guy had all of the anecdotes about specific plant closures which is easy to sell against the abstract of free trade being better for the overall population in the long run.

This ******ed ban is going to put all the anecdotes against him .... the stories of honest, hardworking people who are getting ****ed over for no reason are going to be rolling out day after day.
