You wouldn't just give all the teachers a gun and expect them to take on an active shooter 1 on 1. That would be ridiculous.
Virtually none of them can be trained to be adequate shooters in a shootout, same goes for cops, same goes for the vast majority of humans. I'd imagine it's because it's too nerve wracking, and shaky hands don't make for accurate shots. And lol @ nerdy science teacher, they're all nerdy! As if English teachers would be any better.

Have the kids been duped already? I don't see them falling for anything, and it's not a long shot that some of them will dedicate their lives, professionally or otherwise, to giving Republicans and the NRA hell. When that young survivor said that they're coming after those beholden to the NRA, I believed her.

I mean, if the point is to lob Greenwaldesque "HYPOCRITE!" bombs at me because my level of concern over US meddling in the affairs of other nations is much lower than my concern with Russia meddling in US affairs, like I said, point conceded, I'm definitely guilty of that. But I'm not randomly ****ting on Guatemala for the hell of it. (Unless one considers that me caring less about Guatemala than the US counts as ****ting on Guatemala in which case yeah I guess I am). I don't mind being Criticized on the Internet by Strangers but it irritates me when people not named Kreskin pretend to be mind readers.

I hope you are right but history says the Rs will run out the clock or change the conversation in a way that nothing meaningful ever happens. In other words I'll believe any of this making a difference when I see it. I think what the kids are doing is fantastic obviously I guess I am just very cynical about the possibility of anything meaningful happening. The R and NRA playbook has been very effective historically.

trump: "[NRA] actually came up with certain regulations that we have now"

yeah no **** that's the problem people are pointing out

trump is on tv fantasizing about general kelly teaching a history class to kids with a concealed firearm on his hip. and that in itself would prevent a school shooting

The school staff would have radios. Encrypted channels obv. Look you don't need to worry about the details. The government will put out a contract, it will be sole source awarded to Trump's former bodyguard, and everything will be fine.

Meh, if the pace at which these shootings are occurring through the first two months of 2018 does not subside then the NRA/GOP don't have any hope of this conversation falling out of the news.

Pretty much sunk his shot at beoming President with that. All any opponent has to do is show him getting lit up by teenagers at that town hall meeting to establish his incompetence.

He knows who butters his bread. He's defending the NRA almost as aggressively as he has Russia.

It is different. This time it looks like you'll finally get rid of the evil "gun free zones" law.

Every time a shot is fired a red dot will appear on the teacher's HUD indicating where the shooter is located.

Hupp and her parents were having lunch at the Luby's Cafeteria in Killeen in 1991 when a mass shooting took place. The gunman, George Hennard, shot 44 people in all, killing 24 of them, including himself. The fatally wounded included both of Hupp's parents. Hupp later expressed regret about deciding to remove her gun from her purse and lock it in her car, lest she risk possibly running afoul of the state's concealed weapons laws; during the shootings, she reached for her weapon but then remembered that it was "a hundred feet [30 m] away in my car."
Thus proving nothing idiot.

They are talking 20%. What makes you think this would be any more organized than Puerto Rico?

Thus, what Risen did to Greenwald.

What? Son you're slipping back to ole Confederacy defending Klan avatar days with this ****. Remember when you said you weren't aware of the content of Greenwald's appearances on Carlson until yesterday? That shoulda set off that "oh maybe it's not opinion sharing time for me then" red light.

People who don't encounter Greenwald's more moderate statements will be lead to believe that Greenwald thinks Russia is a hoax with no evidence. This is readily apparent from reading his twitter mentions which inevitably devolve into Russiagate fan fiction vs. Breitbart reader flame wars.

Risen was generous on this point. It's pretty clear Greenwald isn't just being a bad communicator on this, he's openly disingenuous. He's ikesing.
I mean yeah I don't watch ****ing Tucker and Fox news, but I do read Greenwald. Reading his actual articles and missing his, uh, Fox News appearances seems pretty reasonable yo. It's like the opposite of ill-informed. So people who see Greenwald on Fox news are going to get misled? NO ****, THEY'RE ALREADY WATCHING FOX NEWS! Again, not that Greenwald should go on Fox News and criticize the Mueller investigation, that's bad and I won't defend it.
02-22-2018 , 02:40 PM
Like "do you even watch Fox news? If not then maybe you shouldn't have an opinion " isn't something I'd expect to hear Fly ever say

Philando Castile was a janitor at a school and a concealed carry owner. He was shot by the police.

I'm not completely convinced they even want it out of the news. They are desperate and vulnerable this election year, and they know it. Nothing drives the idiots in their base to the polls like THE GUN GRABBERS ARE COMING TO GRAB YOUR GUNZ!!!

LOL, Trump can only keep the crazy away one day at a time. The need to be deplorable is too strong and, after he exhausts his will trying to be normal, he blows like Old Faithful.

You may be right, but they've been beating that drum for so long I gotta think diminishing returns set in at some point.

You guys smell the panic from the GOP yet? They're playing all their get out of jail cards at the same time. But these kids aren't stupid (at least the people feeding them the info aren't).

Keep this up. Give the NRA nowhere to hide.
