Seems easy. Just send him off to 23 and Me and we will know in a few weeks. I think that’s the place that tells everyone they are various percentages of twenty parts of the world.

lol I thought he was talking to some guy named Tommy. I've been pronouncing her name as TOE-mi the whole time.

Shows how much I know about the right-wing white blonde-haired girl du jour.

they are just chaining catch phrases together in that ad.

they could have done a black and white of selma bridge crossing, MLK, Woolworth lunch counter, freedom riders, water cannons, Flint, Chicago, Baltimore, occupy wall street etc... like stuff that actually has to do with racism or with peaceful protesting, etc...
Really? You're having a problem understanding that commercial at face value but knew what that Tiger commercial was about? Really?

i am not having a problem understanding it, it is just that it is all over the place and not tightly coupled.

the french guy is right, they could've done olympic runners at nazi olympics, ali, jackie robinson, jim brown and kaep.

that would have an actual theme.

it feels almost like someone cut and pasted that ad together from a bunch of other ads.

I think they did. It's the anniversary of the original Just Do It ad campaign

Speaking of dumb ideas for the Sahara. Could an actual smart person answer if it would be possible to set up wind turbine and/or solar powered pumps that pump sea water from the ocean like 100 miles+ into the Sahara desert? Like a water pump cant take that much energy right? Get enough of them and you could water the desert (creating useful land?) and help lower the sea level at the same time.

Not an actual smart person, but I doubt salt water would actually create useful land, and even fresh water would, I'm pretty sure, take several centuries. I also think you're probably significantly underestimating the energy required to pump water. One cubic metre of water weighs one metric ton.

you know that thing where you rub a balloon on your head and it bends the water coming out of the tap. well just get loads of balloons (a fun pack is about 50p) and a particularly hairy dog problem solved

A survey commissioned by the Republican National Committee has led the party to a glum conclusion regarding President Donald Trump’s signature legislative achievement: Voters overwhelmingly believe his tax overhaul helps the wealthy instead of average Americans.

By a 2-to-1 margin -- 61 percent to 30 percent -- respondents said the law benefits “large corporations and rich Americans” over “middle class families,” according to the survey, which was completed on Sept. 2 by the GOP firm Public Opinion Strategies and obtained by Bloomberg News.

...

“Voters are evenly divided on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,” the RNC-commissioned report said. “But, we’ve lost the messaging battle on the issue.”

+1 on I don't think sea water does any good. A lot of water is pumped and then flows long distances in California. Distance is a problem because of evaporation, but the energy has more to do with elevation. A lot of the Sahara is at reasonably high elevation. The California aqueduct's highest elevation - pumped up there - is 1926 ft. Most, but not all, of the Sahara is considerably higher.

But, the issue is fresh water. You need desalination with the ocean first, so that's a lot more energy.
