I mean yeah public opinion was against impeachment, but it clearly didn't carry over to the polls.

Trump Wants Attorney General to Investigate Source of Anonymous Times Op-Ed
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One as he traveled to Fargo, N.D., Mr. Trump said, “I would say Jeff should be investigating who the author of that piece was because I really believe it’s national security.”

Mr. Trump said he was considering action against The Times, although he did not elaborate.

...

“We’re going to take a look at what he had, what he gave, what he’s talking about, also where he is right now,” he said.

pretty stern words for obama. going a bit hamish...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-time-U-S.html

Former President Barack Obama went after President Trump as a 'symptom' of social dysfunction
He denounced Trump's foreign policy, attacks on the press, and efforts to pressure the attorney general
He said his successor has been 'capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years'
'How hard can that be, saying that Nazis are bad?'
Obama made the comment in a speech while accepting an ethics award in home-state Illinois
He returned to the political stage as Democrats hope to rip Congress from GOP hands
He has faced pleas from Democrats to reenter the political fray in advance o fthe Mid-terms
'We can't put up walls around America'
Called for 'old fashioned' ideas like forcing candidates to release their tax returns

Um you talked **** behind his back while trying to foist Palin on us you dip turd.

But if the U.S. political climate continues to deteriorate, will I continue to be invested in the fight? As a citizen, I guess I should, but as you mentioned a long time ago, if the situation gets bad enough, focusing on friends, family, reading, exercise, anything but politics, begins to seem a lot more attractive than focusing on politics.
Shouldn't that sound much more attractive than politics anyway? That's what I do and it's a lot better, I just come in here for the entertainment.

Wow, Obama finally opens his mouth and it's this drivel:

Quote:
“None of this is conservative,” Mr. Obama told an auditorium of students from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. “I don’t mean to pretend I’m channeling Abraham Lincoln now but that’s not what he had in mind, I think, when he helped form the Republican Party. It’s not conservative. It sure isn’t normal. It’s radical. It’s a vision that says the protection of our power and those who back us is all that matters even when it hurts the country.”
Yes, it ****ing is conservative! This is exactly what the GOP has been driving towards for decades!

When Trump finally exits stages left, in whatever manner, and the GOP recovers from the cult-like hold he had over them to return to the average level of racism they've held for our lifetimes, Obama is going to be just as ****ing complicit as the NYT anonymous op-ed writer in returning the GOP to a place of normalcy, where we insist their utter insanity gets civility and respect from reporters and TV talking heads.

That would not be difficult. I saw the last 4-5 deaths' worth of a black and white version a while back, and commented that it was a horrible movie with an incredibly stupid twist at the end. Just now, I went to the wikipedia page, and discovered the original name of the book.

On the glass half full side, the probability distributions for influenza-related death and Trump support are quite similar. He's not shooting people on Fifth Ave., but his policies are killing his own supporters.

yeah exactly. when he decried "politicians" for using racism, like bro wtf just say "republicans", stop both-sidesing you're so bad at this
09-07-2018 , 02:44 PM
trump stole the best parts of obama's rhetoric, being super vague about most ****, while not making the mistake of wasting all his time trying to negotiate with a brick wall

i think we have more to learn from trump than obama tbh. ****in recalibrate the trajectory from "hating minorities and making billionaires more powerful" to some new deal socialism and you're good. you don't need to legitimize conservatism, like another genius harvard idea from obama, let's put "real" conservatives on an equal plane to us, then win a reasoned debate from there

This seems like a time to focus on politics.
09-07-2018 , 03:01 PM
How has Obama seriously learned nothing. JFC.
09-07-2018 , 03:03 PM
Who exactly is the target audience for an Obama lecture on how True Conservatives ought to behave?
09-07-2018 , 03:14 PM
Guys, you are focusing way too much time and criticism on liberals by criticizing Obama here. What are you, Glenn ****ing Greenwald? Isn't there some Russia theory from Maddow's show last night we can discuss today?
09-07-2018 , 03:17 PM
obama also today said it only takes 30 minutes to vote. well, not everywhere, i wish you coulda done something about that when you had power instead of blowing your supermajority arguing to pass mitt romney's health care plan
