Ted Lieu and another congressperson have sent a letter to the Whitehouse requesting details on Trump’s continued use of his private cell phone. They are attempting to find what security measures are being taken when trump uses that phone

I assume every spy agency in the world has trump’s private phone number. While I would traditionally agree that the US President is the most coveted security asset in the world, Trump knows pretty much nothing. I would think if he were kidnapped and interrogated his captors would surrender because they could not get a sentence of usable information out of him.

It is absurd that he is using his private cellphone and it’s magnitudes worse that he is doing it so his chief of staff doesn’t know what he is doing. He may be the worst manager of anything ever.

Lol cnn headline is the Comey thinks Clinton would have been a better president than Trump.

Talk about not news. It wouldn't be news if it said he thought a ham sandwich would have been a better president.

Yeah I think tapping Trump's phone calls would probably just be an extremely indirect and error-prone way of watching Fox and Friends.

Are you sure you didn’t just dream this? It seems to be completely made up of plot points from Stripes.

Is Cohen taking the 5th for one question in one case (Stormy), or is it some sort of blanket plea for all questions for all evidence seized? Or something in between?
04-25-2018 , 11:07 PM
According to Sally Yates "to assert the Fifth Amendment, you have to have a good-faith basis to believe that the truthful answers to those questions would incriminate you in a crime."

If this was Hillary's lawyer, Trump would be suggesting that Cohen and his family all be waterboarded so we can get to the bottom of all these crimes he knows about.

“Does the special prosecutor really have an open mind?” Mr. Giuliani said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “We’re trying to assess their good faith.”

...

One particular question the president’s legal team is seeking to answer is whether the special counsel’s team has “made any conclusion about credibility,” Mr. Giuliani said. “Do they favor Comey over Trump in terms of credibility?”

I was given an infraction for using this type of debate logic.

Another insane instance of false equivalence GOP-ocrisy, this time from Kellyair Conway vs Chris Cuomo on CNN tonight.

Kellyanne: "These statements against Ronny Jackson are only allegations. This whole idea of [liberals] crucifying someone publicly is dangerous."

Yup, smear campaigns are mainly what Dems do, and not a Trumpublican thing at all. Just ask lyincomey.com...if he's not sharing a cell block yet with all the teenage shooting victims, Hillary4Prison, half the FBI, anyone painted brown, chicks with dicks, impartial journalists, and a boatload of other Trump "critics." LOCK THEM UP!

Partially that, the other part is they simply do not care. It's about getting the libs now, nothing else matters.

I didn't vote for trump but I'm very glad hillary lost. But as a conservative there is no denying that this has been a s*** show lately. I don't think his presidency is entirely bad but at this point I hope pence just takes over or something. I have a good friend who is a die hard trump supporter. I am not good at debating politics but when I hang out with him again I'll have to get his view on the matter.

They all seemed to adopt the Trumpian philosophy of counterpunching (2-10x) harder whenever hit, and not backing down until killed.

Sadly, we're approaching a stage where the hits are coming against Trump and his circle pretty ****ing hard and pretty ****ing often, which means things are going to start getting ugly fast. I'm not sure how optimistic to feel knowing that so much more pessimism will be following right around the corner.

I suppose this has already been touched on elsewhere in this thread, but Joe Scarborough had an opinion piece in the Washington Post a few days ago speculating that Trump himself may decide not to run for a second term as President - even if he manages to survive the Mueller probe and "other" distractions. Trump, according to Scarborough, is complaining that the job is "too much work" and "not as much fun" as he thought it would be. Scarborough may have a bit of an axe to grind, considering what Trump has said about Mika's "nose job" and so on, but Trump has made a few off-the-cuff comments indicating that he may be souring on the job. (One of them was a recent Q&A session with a friendly group where, after a lighthearted back-and-forth, the questioner asked Trump a final question.

Question: "With the benefit of hindsight, what advice would 71-year-old Trump give to 25-year-old Trump?"

With virtually no hesitation Trump answered ...

Answer: "Don't run for President!"

After the audience quit laughing, he followed this up by commenting on the great press coverage he got before he decided to run for President and how much he misses all that positive press.

If the mid-term elections go really bad for Republicans - where "really bad" means they lose both the House and the Senate - I think Trump may decide one term is enough. I'm not sure his fragile ego can stand running for re-election and losing. If the mid-terms are a disaster, Trump will start looking for the exit door.

I really feel for you man. Not enough gay conversion therapy and abortion banning going on. Need Pence to rectify the situation.

I'm all for banning abortion, but the gay conversion therapy stuff is a little off the wall. What powers does a president have that would help him with the gay conversion stuff? Do you really think pence would use an executive order on it?
