gl, hope you had the opportunity to slowroll them in the most brutal way possible

There needs to be more progressives in there for sure. However at this point im just trying to stay afloat, i just want to win both chambers in 18` so we get to disempower some of the reckless ppl in there like gowdy and in the administration and keep mueller employed.

The median individual income in this country is under 35k and the median household income is under 60k. It shouldn't be that hard to imagine when ~all of the people in power rally behind a huge tax cut for millionaires how that makes regular people feel. If the Dems don't run with populist candidates after this, I just give up. We're gonna create an environment where no poor or working class people vote, and gamble that Republican racism and phony moralizing will turn off enough six-figure earners to win elections. GL with that.
Yup. Finding it difficult to care about the Flynn/Kushner developments.

Between Gorsuch and this tax bill, the bad guys won. **** this country.

After being personally insulted for months by Trump and getting accolades galore from the New York Times and Washington Post for being sober minded adults, Jeff Flake and John McCain both voted yes. Go **** yourselves, fellas. And John, since you seem to care about your "legacy," this is it. A trillion dollars for billionaires and being Daddy's errand boy.

Poor people don't vote. They also all think they will be rich one day.

I think it will be interesting to predict the blowback here. It sure as hell seems to me that its 1929 all over again.

Dumbass right wing economic policies
Wealth concentration
Regulatory rollback
Stock market in bubble territory

This **** is going to have consequences. Maybe its my naive nature to think that, if we can keep them from cheating and going full totalitarian, a wave of actual liberal policies will be the long term result. But even if so, there is going to be almost unimaginable pain and suffering along the way.

They won one battle but are doing a horrible job in the war. This bill is massively unpopular.

Also, people are forgetting we are drawing live for actual nuclear Holocaust.

The GOP hung onto trump because they wanted their tax cuts on rich people. Now they have them. Hopefully, this means there will be less support for him. Trump is a much bigger danger to the world than these tax cuts. They can be reversed as easily as they were enacted. It's been done before.

Trump's destruction of the American social fabric will be much much harder to fix. Not to mention the actual nuclear holocaust.

Frankly, if you are a poor minority in America your life is far worse under the social atmosphere created by Trump than due to these tax cuts.

Let's be honest too. Where were the mass protests? Where was the hard push back from Dems? (Lol thier pathetic hash tag). Nobody faught this. Nobody. Some version of this was going to pass with any republican held House and Senate.

From the outside, the basically total apathy of the American people this past year is perhaps the most alarming part of this whole horror show.

The cuts are not law. They have to go to committee and be voted again by both houses. Will there be mass protests? Of course not.

Wore out? Did you see the 60s or the 90s for that matter. The protests to date have been a joke.

Maddow was trying to highlight protests against the tax cuts and the best she could find was "crowds" of like 10 people.

Evil people get away with it because good people let them.

What on earth makes people think trump was necessary for this tax scam? Pence would insta-sign it too. Why would this passing lessen support for trump? I’ve seen no plausible reasoning for this but only wishcasting

Of course any republican would sign it. Trump wasnt needed for support. He was needed for cover. While everyone was lighting thier hair on fire over his latest Tweet, the GOP could work unbothered by media or constituents to give billions to billionaires.

Trump is the smoke the magician uses to hide the secret trap door. The only difference is this smoke is mixed with Sarin gas.

How does the country recover from that? Are we looking at bloodshed in the streets (maybe whether he gets impeached or not, depending on the effect on the economy the tax plan has)?

FB
I mean, its not even worth considering. trump is never getting impeached. not worth even typing a single keystroke or wasting a single brain cell.

No one was covering it regardless. The Flynn thing ensured no last minute coverage. Trump retweeting the UK KKK had no bearing.

BS, those “crowds of 10 people” were people who were knowingly getting themselves hauled off and arrested for protesting in Congressional hearings. That’s limited seating too, so only so many people can volunteer to get arrested.

There have been large protests on this bill and people are doing all of the above, which is why this bill is the most unpopular tax bill in modern history, including TAX HIKES. Tax cuts for the wealth are Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell’s wet dream, they are true Randian believers, AND their donors were going HAM if they didn’t do what they were paid to do. Blame them for ignoring the will of the people, not us for “only” being willing to fight with our time and resources.

I'll be really curious to see the media analysis when it is done but I'd bet money you are mistaken.

Trump was needed to con racist dumbasses into believing they could have it all with the racism the Rs were known for (but even better!) with the socialist policies of Ds. Once those racist dumbasses cast voted in a R President and R Congress a bill like this was inevitable. Has little to do with Trump distractions or lighting his hair on fire.

Yeah, Trump was a huge detriment to it passing. If Trump had standard first year approval ratings this tax bill would have above 50% approval.

This thing isn't a law yet, where are the protest movements, which roads are getting closed just in time to ruin the holiday season? Gogogooggogogogo
