lmao. Name a candidate who doesn't have baggage. If they don't, I'll invent some for you. Beto has a DUI. Kamala Harris had an affair with Willie Brown. Cory Booker broke his streak of being weirdly single with a disastrously young Instagram model. All of this stuff is stupid, unimportant, and would be exceptionally hypocritical for Trump to take shots at, but do you think that's going to stop him from going on stage at every rally to call Kamala Harris an evil socialist slut? Of course not! Stop pining for the candidate who's immune to Trump's dishonest attacks to come through that door, they're not coming, and even if they did chyme would still vote for Donald Trump.

“Social Security and Medicare” is trending. Guess which 2020 candidate helped make that happen?

Honestly, the backbiting ITT is ridic.

See? Like this bull****. It is unfair that she will be held to this standard, just like it is unfair that she would be called shrill or a nasty woman for being aggressive, just like it is unfair that she can't lie it away, or deflect with dishonesty, just like it is unfair that Trump has disingenuous shills like the quoted who will never hold him to account while us whiney liberals are losing site of the target by having ****ing integrity.

Double standards everywhere. Their dishonesty and cheating and lack of integrity is a an advantage. Lament it all you want, but adjust ffs.

Same thing with this revolution talk. How many of the peaceniks here are enjoying their fantasy of bricks and guillotines and getting in Sean Hannity's face but have never been in a fistfight outside of elementary school, if then? That mother****er would kill every one of us in a confrontation. We have no chance if we can't even recognize the fight we are in.

One of my cherished memes about modern football (borrowed from college football bloggers) is that every highly paid college and NFL coach actually needs a 13 year old who has played thousands of hours of Madden to handle clock management for them. This would be a good investment, and smart.

Why? The average football coach is dealing with playbooks, schemes, teaching technique, recruiting, media, whatever else goes into coaching -- and clock management really only comes up during games and even then, it only matters in close games, often at the ends of halves and at the end of games. So they don't get into those scenarios that often.

The average Madden player doesn't have to deal with any of that **** at all and because video game football is sped up (5 minute quarters, etc.) -- the average 13 year old kid who plays Madden seriously has dealt with hundreds or thousands of end game scenarios and how to use the clock effectively, manage their timeouts, when to spike the ball, run out of bounds, do all kinds of bull**** like that. Way more than the average coach.

Elizabeth Warren's faux pas and poor handling of this is actually suggestive of why the average Democratic politician needs left leaning internet **** posters on staff. It was a sardonic insight from Fly, but absolutely true: anyone who has been say interacting with ****ing ikestoys since 2008 knows literally every Trumpian troll tactic in-and-out and have been through countless of internet jabronis pulling this **** over and over and over again and would have far, far better responses than professional, paid Democrats. Democrats need message board posters experienced in dealing with bad faith trolls as bad faith trolling has been upgraded to the dominant form of political communication for the right, all the way up to the President. Understandably they don't deal with these people that much in their day to day jobs but literally any 2p2 poster with 500+ posts on the Politics forum would have handled this whole thing with ease.

yeah but Trump has hit her over and over with this and (most) assumed she was the one in the right and now thats basically gone and even helping Trump look like less of a bigot. He hasnt swiped at the rest yet

Uh, there is no way Sean Hannity's doughy ass and literal melting face (they cake the foundation on him so thick his eyes barely exist at this point, looking like bits of coal on a snowman) would kick the **** out of anything but a club sandwich with extra fries.

Good post. The thing that amazes me goes beyond that though. Three ****ing weeks before the midterms. How can they be THAT stupid? That has nothing to do with the right wing bad faith trolling.

Say what you want about Avenatti but this is a much better way to counter Trump. He's one of the few who absolutely refuses to be bullied by him.

I often wondered how guys like Rubio and Jeb allowed him to belittle them without fighting back. Even Hillary, when Trump was stalking around after her on stage during the debate, should have stopped, turned around, and said "if you think I'm going to be intimidated by a pathetic, misogynistic bully following me around the stage, you've got another think coming". Could have been a huge moment for her.

I'd actually love to watch an Avenatti/Trump debate, would be epic and I think MA would wipe the floor with him.

why are you harping 1/1024th? if she just straight said 1/64th, they'd harp on that! there is no matter of degree where it would have been "enough". even if it was her grandmother they'd just say she didn't grow up on a reservation or always played a Cowboy in Cowboys and Indians because she hated that part of herself so much.

STOP. PLAYING. THEIR. GAME. Even posting about it like this on a messageboard gives it the slightest shred of credibility it doesn't deserve.

It doesn't matter that it's 3 weeks before midterms. If it wasn't her it would just be something else.

Yeah, I like that idea also but not correct. John Oliver just did a montage of him showing his martial arts, combat, and firearms obsession to mock him. Funny and all, but I'm more of a testosterone-fueled idiot in better physical condition than the average liberal and know for a fact he'd wreck me because I'm not mean, not vicious, not trained, not armed, and just not interested in inflicting damage on other humans as a god damned past time. Every Trumpkin I know has several guns. Only some libs I know do. These daydreams of revolution have been a fever dream for a lot of the right for decades. They are waiting for the god damned chance and prepared way more than us in every way. As angry as I am, I really don't want to ever hurt anyone. They don't even need the anger.

Sorry guys, I am over this bull**** we are feeding ourselves. It's not reality. Maybe conservatism was in the death throes as we suspected, but they are fighting to the death now and we are not.

Bolded: what?????? Yeah Liz Warren's DNA test is sure making Donald Trump's attacks on her look racially sensitive? Who believes this besides, again, people like chyme that were already 100% in the lock-voting-Donald-Trump camp?

But more generally: is the idea here that, after Trump spends a year calling Beto "Drunken Robert" at rallies, those attacks will stick less because Trump had only been making them for 1 year instead of 3? I am skeptical.

It's probably about 5%, as most of his base hated her anyway because *looks at notes* she favors regulations against the Financial Industry. Wait no, she's a liberal from Massachusetts, there we go.

The issues only sorta matter to the actual persuadable people, and completely don't matter to the ones who aren't.

I mean ffs, you guys are still acting incredulous when the heel wrestler pulls out the foreign object when the ref is distracted. Yes. Trump gets to be a piece of **** with no repercussions. No, Warren can't be imperfect without severe damage. LDO. Do we have to replay this again?

Pretty roundabout way to do this, though. The only way to get Americans talking about SS and Medicare is to refute Trump's inane bull**** about your heritage?

Because that's what they're going to harp on forever. Because I could have told them, no, literally any reg on the board could have told them they would harp on 1/1,024th the second she released this information.

Then they would have harped on the fact that it was actually probably 1/1,024th and she's lying again to pretend to be a minority and play the victim card like liberals always do. They'd say she was lying about her lying in the past. Then they'd chant lock her up and do some war chants and tomahawk chops. None of that is/was hard to predict.

If it was her grandmother, it would have been enough. If it was her grandmother, we would have heard about it years ago. If it was her great-grandparent, it probably would have been enough too. It was very predictable that 1/1,024th was not going to be "enough."

I don't think it matters much whether we discuss it here. It's being discussed on cable news all day long, and we are complaining about the fact that she botched this so badly that it's going to cost Dems a few days of the news cycle.

Maybe, but it's not. It's this. And it's going to be this any time Trump wants to change the news cycle between now and the election. She has handed him a get out of jail free card to drop any time between now and 11/6/18 that will change the news cycle for 24-48 hours, and he can use it over and over again... and all he has to do is say something more offensive about her than he has in the past on Twitter on at a rally. And you can say that he could do that about anyone, but a lot of the people he can do that with won't fight back so the news story won't last as long. She's starting her 2020 run obviously, so she will fight back, and then this will be the story in the news for three ****ing weeks before the midterms.

Gee, I wonder how the right wing turnout will be affected by three weeks of a liberal woman they hate going toe to toe with daddy?
10-16-2018 , 03:53 PM
to call back to what was surely a dvaut1 post from ages ago, the current system and the President in particular is just the logical progression of "republican loony says crazy **** he doesn't believe, Reasonable Democrat(tm) patiently explains the logical fallacies while the guy doesn't listen, and loony gleefully pivots to something else crazy and stupid".

Because one is the child, and the other is the adult, so the child does whatever the **** he wants and it's expected, but the adult must Adhere To Standards and Norms or else its some big scandal omg can you believe dip**** Centrist over there didn't play his part and explain using big words?

This is so incredibly frustrating that a huge amt of people identify with the IRL troll and want more of it.

Mitch McConnell made that happen.

From Bloomberg:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the U.S. budget deficit is "disturbing" and spending on entitlement programs must be addressed by both Republicans and Democrats.

It's pretty goddamned stunning to me that McConnell crossed the Rubicon and said it out loud. Remember the third rail of politics etc? I'm guessing they've focus-grouped the **** out of it and BUT ACTUALLY deplorables don't even care if you take their only means of subsistence away as long as libs are the subject of a good pwning.
