We’re not at the end, but per WaPo today:

Collins urged Trump to consider a previous deal she was a part of that would trade $25 billion for the wall for permanent protections for undocumented immigrants brought to the country as kids. Trump dismissed that idea.

Did Trump offer anything in exchange for the wall? I hear he's a great dealmaker.

It's not though.
Why can't we just do the bill that unanimously passed the previous senate and passed the new house?
For this reason, I blame McConnell even more than Trump for this shutdown.

If we do DACA for Wall, I want citizenship. Instantly.
No half-measure that can be reneged on.

Immediate citizenship would never pass the senate
Pathway with real attainable pathways is fair.

The daca deal was for 25 billion. The dems mostly agreed to it. Even i blame trump for blowing that by insisting on end of chain migration and Visa lottery to be added to it.

re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: State of Emergency
Me: I will give you $20,000 for this brand new car
Donny the Mobster Car Salesman: No, instead you will give me $5,000 and I won’t kill your family
Me: runs to the police station
Mets, the Donny the Mobster Apologist Who Totally Doesn’t Support Donny:Pwn is so unreasonable!!!!! He offered to give Donny $20,000 and now he is trying to get Donny in trouble with the police just for asking for $5,000. Gosh, can you believe it? This is why I hate liberals!!!!

re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: State of Emergency
lol@ "would never pass the Senate".
Dems have to give Republicans what they like, but Repbublicans won't be able to give Dems what they like, because reasons.
Also, tha Democrats can not negotiate before the shutdown has ended. Everything else is not a negotiation, but a hostage situation by dealmaker no.1.

I blame trump for this not happening
But my point is the dems offered 25 billion for a wall 1 year ago. So saying 5 billion is unreasonable is silly

re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: State of Emergency
Trump was ready to sign the spending bill until Ann Coulter called him out. He could have been wheeling and dealing that whole time. Instead he decided to take hostages. He did this to himself.
It's obvious he doesn't give a flying crap about the wall personally.

The far right is Trump's base. They're also the ones causing this shutdown.
Seems like Ol' Donnie's got himself in a quite a pickle this time.

Always hilarious when racists get rustled by an immigration program they designed to be racist, but now that it's getting used by brown people, it has to be ended.
