Yeah, that's totally in his range as well.

Disagree. "Not political" is not a valid excuse. Anyone who doesn't look at Trump with disdain is at least entry-level deplorable.

Nope here is what Tiger said about playing with him

Quote:
Woods told reporters the previous month: 'He's the president of the United States and you have to respect the office.'

'And no matter who's in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office.'

At least Jack doesn't try to hide it

nope??

how is that inconsistent with trump and tiger being friends and tiger holding back on hugging trump in public? that quote is hardly an endorsement of trump

I sense a multipage derail in the near future.

My point was the opposite. He is a casual acquaintance of Trumps who plays with him out of respect for the office. They are not good friends.

Showing trump respect disrespects the office.

I get the vibe that Tiger just wants to maximize his earnings. He probably does/says what his agent tells him.

This explanation makes the most sense.

It's not an excuse, but it's the most likely scenario.

The Tiger butt hurt ITT makes his win today that much more enjoyable.

I think the simplest explanation is that Trump is just super into golf and Tiger is the man of the hour in the golf world. Black athletes have always been a key part of the civil rights movement and I think that's because white people find it easy to momentarily overlook race when someone is tearing it up at sportsball. It's like one kind of tribalism is overriding another when casually racist guys in Brooklyn see Jackie Robinson step up to the plate.

My impression was that he is mostly indifferent, but he won't criticize him and will golf with him as plenty of rich old white golf-playing dudes buy Nike/Tiger stuff.
Michael Jordan's approach was always don't rock the boat on racial issues and cash in on Nike endorsements. As a white dude I feel very reluctant to pass judgement here. I don't think Tiger is indifferent, I think he has a lot to lose if he goes the Kapernick route. Or maybe he really is MAGA-friendly, who knows what's going on in his head.

this was the worst reply imo. Calling Nancy Pelosi an American icon is not the correct way to oppose Trump.

ever since the 55% approval poll, I've been watching a lot of Lou Dobbs. Just for the laughs.

This thread really wondering if one rich golfer who cheats on everyone is a fan of another rich golfer who cheats on everyone huh.

Not that it matters, great for the sport, great for tiger, and I thought he was done too and I always support people older than me getting **** done in teh competitive world because well there's not that many at this point.
