I agree cities can absorb the immigrants if they wanted to.

I think however you guys underestimate NIMBY and how unprepared some of those cities are. Take SF for example. They don't even know what to do with the poor residents they got now and a lot of their housing "advocates" say SF needs more housing... but just not where they live.

I absolutely love the idea of letting immigrants pick the cities they want to go to by the way. Letting immigrants sort themselves into cities where they think they have the most support is one of the smartest things we can do to lower the costs of absorbing immigration and accelerating the process of integrating immigrants into the larger society and economy.

You know one of letting immigrants pick what city they want to go to? Not arresting them at the border so much...

Yes immigrants are going to choose to go where they think they have the most support and in Grizy's world they will choose Nancy Pelosi's district where they will have no place to live or job prospects.

My hometown has been a sanctuary city for at least a decade. I, and everyone else, had no idea.

City made a waiting area under the overpass for them to get day work. Probably didnt even cost 10k. No notable change anywhere otherwise.
