Dems should tell trump they’ll give him $5b for a wall and get rid of Obamacare and all he has to do is include universal healthcare and make all immigrants currently in the country permanent legal residents with a path to citizenship. He’d likely agree and you can leave it to him and republicans to fight about it. Throw in the Green New Deal language if you want to too.

id give him 100b for a wall to get all that.

for over 10 years and despite all of this republican support that you claim, these people are not any closer to safely becoming citizens. in fact, within the last year they came very close to losing their status and being recommended for deportation.

so, I guess you can trust the courts that were recently packed by trump and his ethno nationalists, including the supreme court, but even tthen its not like the courts are gonna make these people legal.

but I get that its pretty easy for you to play hard line badass when it has absolutely no effect on you, but some of us actually care about other people and would like that they are provided with the safety and potential that they deserve.

well its rep. and hes not the brightest bulb. but as far as I can tell his argument is twofold. first, no way will the repubs make such a deal bc its such a great win for the left. (ofc, this is pretty rich coming from a guy who just a few days ago went into great detail about the expected value of an obv fake bet). second, no way should the dems make a deal bc they will never get enough value and it will be caving.

anyway, it seems that ppl have already forgotten that trump agreed to a path for citizenship in exchange for wall funding about a year ago. the republicans at the table gently told him that he should not.
