The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter

So he keeps saying $91B to Puerto Rico but the best I can tell it’s more like $300M

And in the 9 days following the hurricanes, Texas got $100M in aid and PR only $6M or 6% as much even tho it was more devastating.

Yeah I was thinking this. I mean it can make sense if your extracting parts in other programs, maybe, possibly. But for government docs?

There is no barely any ongoing conversation. Whenever one starts, it will be interrupted by a bot tweet from the stupid president, so the discussion has to be halted for the mandatory 3-5 sub-Daily Show level slams. Rinse and repeat forever.

Get rid of the bot. People can still post tweets in the thread the 5-10% of the time when they're actually newsworthy.

The bot is the only reason for the thread

The bot is awesome

You all don't want real discussion so no idea why anyone is complaining
04-02-2019 , 12:55 PM
Bot should 100% stay but the undertitle should be changed either to "No Collusion" or to "I'm President, and you're not."
04-02-2019 , 12:56 PM
Pouting isn't a flattering look.
04-02-2019 , 12:59 PM
I vote keep the bot. It keeps us grounded to the surreal reality of what 40% of the country is thinking right now.

Sorry this thread doesn't live up to the high standards of posting links to hate groups on Facebook without commentary.

I never heard of Hogan Gidley but he repeats the $91B lie too.

the bot didn't exist till mid-2018 and the Presidency of Trump threads before that were a lot better.

yeah, that's fine. seems like there's a small majority in favor of the bot. I think for as long as it exists there will always be a ton of bad, performative 'Hey Mr Brain Genius, are you aware...' drumpfposting following after it, but I should prob just use the ignore button more I guess.

Nobody is stopping you from your hot take trump discussions of depth and substance.

Keep the bot

I for one would love to see kafja's insightful deep dives beside trump tweets and dunks. But if i can only have one I want the tweets and dunks.

I think people have noted trunp’s aneyeurism on Puerto Rico is he is conflating damage estimates with relief paid out.

I know this doesn’t need to be said, but the guy is not smart. He believes aid to Puerto Rico is foreign aid.

1. Kafja is right
2. I vote for separate threads. Important tweets can still be quoted in this thread.

More from Rick Reilly’s book

Quote:
In another story, Trump is playing with former Lakers coach Mike Dunleavy against two other players. Unhappy with Dunleavy’s approach shot, Trump nudges Dunleavy’s ball onto a more favorable spot on the green. (Trump strategically kicks so many golf balls that the caddies call him “Pelé.”)

Dunleavy doesn’t want the help. He wants to play by the rules. “That’s why he’s an unemployed coach and I’m worth $13 billion,” Trump says.
I feel like that is Trump’s highest fake valuation of himself ever. He must have really been feeling the brand that day.

Quote:
Trump, Reilly reports in Commander in Cheat, plays golf like a maniac, hitting off the tee first and then racing down the fairway in his cart. This tic allows Trump to cheat, as he often simply plays someone else’s ball, or kicks his onto the fairway. In one story in Commander in Cheat, Trump’s playing partners watch him hit his ball into the water. But when they reach Trump, they find his ball has conveniently turned up on the fairway. “Must’ve been the tide,” Trump says.
Quote:
One of Reilly’s most fruitful obsessions is poking at the number of club championships Trump claims to have won at courses he owns. (At last count, Trump claimed 20.) In one memorable case, Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey, club was holding its senior club championship. The same day, Trump played a round at another course, Trump Philadelphia. According to Reilly’s sources, Trump took his Philadelphia score—which was probably fudged, in any case—transposed it to Bedminster, and declared himself Bedminster’s club champion.
Quote:
Every one of Trump’s most disgusting qualities surfaces in golf. Racism: When playing golf with Reilly, Trump handed $100 tips to Chilean course workers and says, “Now, those guys are the Donald Trumps of Chile!” Ecological terror: A caddy tells Reilly that Trump’s golf cart once contained a can of red spray paint, and that Trump marked trees his balls hit with a red “X.” The trees were removed the next day.
Donald Trump’s of Chile.

i'm sorry if you feel that someone else posting dumb stuff stops you from posting smart stuff, but donald trump is Our President and we're going to have to deal with a lot more dumb stuff before this is all over.
04-02-2019 , 01:47 PM
Honestly, I didn't realize the insane volume and breadth of the stupidity until the bot started. It's what America deserves.
04-02-2019 , 02:02 PM
Peeps been posting less since the new rules came into effect and most posters in the old thread just skimmed by the tweets, alough I now realise some thought they were parodys
I personally wouldn't vists a T TWEET thread only, I mean who would do that ffs. And I'm British lol.
04-02-2019 , 02:31 PM
This thread is the first thing I read in the morning and I am not bothered by and have not noticed the sophomoric/tedious posting. Would prefer things stay the same, but whatever.
04-02-2019 , 02:39 PM
Please modify bot to include a “**** you” rebuttal to each tweet.
04-02-2019 , 02:43 PM
People venting at the bot is way less annoying than multiple pages of off-topic arguing that is not related to Trump which happens at least once a month.
