Yes - and my point is if engaging a typical guntard - don't get distracted by other shiny objects. This is the point - clearly gun control works to prevent mass shootings as evidenced by how rare this is over there.

I checked Chiefsplanet and of course that was the initial take - that clearly this disproves gun control - along with some scary crap about how this is just the beginning of the civil war that's coming.

Most of these people have never met a Muslim in their lives - but they are CONVINCED that they're going to need to defend themselves from one any day now. It's crazy.

I just can't do Chiefsplanet today though. I'll lose my mind.

Holy crap does this nail what it's like to argue with a right-winger on just about anything these days.

Surely you must realize that all of those groups believe this as well? This is something I've been harping on in these conversations for forever. It's a central part of the debate surrounding Ilhan Omar!

I dont know if it’s been mentioned but there’s a 17 minute video from the shooter’s live stream

I usually end up watching these things, read the description and almost decided not to - yea don’t. I’ve seen death and a lot of messed up things but that was one of the most evil horrific things ive ever seen, i didnt get through more than 30 seconds. It’s ****ed up to watch it but i always have this horrible need to remind myself that there is true evil in the world and who the real sick ****s are.

I know in the next few days some racist **** is gonna post some edge lordy thing on fb and im gonna lose my mind on them, it’s guaranteed now. People are so sick like i just cant even comprehend how something like this can even happen, let alone have massive groups of people cheering it on.

There is a direct link from trumpism to this guy. The blood is on the hands of every single person that voted for him, and that is not being melodramatic. You ****ing contributed to this, now own it.

Just so we don't lose what Trump said.

Trump Just Said His Friends in the Military, Police, and a Biker Group Might Get “Tough” on Democrats

Quote:
I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.
Such a tough guy - he's been working on the "look" - (to add to his Mussolini pose he uses at rallies & speeches)

A slightly different safari into the heartland

Quote:
Daniel Squadron, the former New York state senator who leads Future Now, a national organization to help elect Democrats to state legislatures, said he cautioned people against thinking the wave of overt white identity politics is simply an offshoot of Mr. Trump.

Mr. Squadron pointed out that, in the Pennsylvania race, Mr. Scavo’s controversial social media posts began before Mr. Trump’s candidacy. Other candidates in this mold, such as the Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, won support of local Republicans even though Mr. Trump had endorsed Mr. Moore’s opponent.

“It’s not about Trump,” Mr. Squadron said. “It’s about a mind-set, a conspiracy theory, an ethnonationalism that Trump reflects.”

“We should stop thinking of these races as ‘Trump-ized’ because they’re about ‘Pizzagate’ and racial and ethnic division and fear-mongering,” he said. “That’s just how races are run on the Republican side these days.”

Mr. Scavo and his supporters largely agree. Mr. Scavo called himself “pro-wall, not pro-Trump,” and Mr. Bolus said he worried the Republican establishment fails to understand how fiercely Mr. Trump’s supporters are committed to their cultural ideals.
Quote:
Lynne Kokinda, 62, who volunteered daily for Mr. Scavo until Election Day, said she felt the country is at a tipping point. Gregory Griffin, a 64-year-old retired corrections officer, blamed Mr. Obama’s presidency, along with the news media, for “stirring up racial strife.”

He took particular issue with the Black Lives Matter movement against police brutality.

“It should be ‘police shoots citizen who resisted arrest or had a gun,’ but it’s usually portrayed as ‘white police officer shoots black male’ and that’s stirring the pot,” Mr. Griffin said. “That’s causing the black people to feel like black people are getting assassinated.”

He cited two Democrats who are an increasing focus of Mr. Trump’s base — Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. Carol Huddy, 71, said that preserving “our culture” was the era’s defining issue — regardless if Mr. Trump is in office.

“We may be far away from the border, but they’re here and they’re coming here,” Ms. Huddy said, initially refusing to define “they.”

Ten seconds passed.

Twenty seconds passed.

And then Ms. Huddy leaned in.

“I’ll give you a hint,” she said, whispering, “They have names like Vasquez and Hernandez.”

Ya the AOC triggering is insane. Have seen people come out of the woodwork on social media over the last year to post about how she is dumb and a threat to our society. Some of them are not the normal right wing slappies. Talk about telling on yourself.
03-15-2019 , 01:25 PM
I think that is the point. There are far more deplorables out there than anyone could have imagined. For reasons that may be difficult to fully understand, AOC serves as a good litmus test.
03-15-2019 , 01:31 PM
I think part of what scares them is that in most ways AOC is totally ordinary and she's kicking their ass. "Holy ****, there could be millions of AOCs out there!"
03-15-2019 , 01:33 PM
Remember all the reporting about Mueller wrapping it up? He asked to have until May 14th now citing several still ongoing investigations involving the cooperation of Rick Gates.

This would explain why they always try to dismiss her as a dumb waitress and make fun of the fact that she uses the word "like" as filler.
03-15-2019 , 01:37 PM
If AOC used the same tone, cadence, style, etc. to put forth derp talking points, they wouldn't say the same thing. They disagree with her worldview, and the fact she's attractive and young automatically leads them to "she's dumb."

COs often hate their job, have ridiculously long shifts, are paid ****ing nothing, and have to spend their lives dealing with convicts who are overwhemingly non-white (hence the normalized racism). I've seen that job turn a few of my friends into miserable *******s. Of course, that cynical, bitter attitude towards humanity along with power tripping on the job grooms them to be deplorables.

AOC is really the perfect storm for these deplorables. She's a young, Hispanic female. I mean that's a triple-threat to their desire for them to tighten control over minorities. Their anti-woman attitude leads them to assume that an attractive woman can't be smart. So, they believe she ****ed her way to the position she is in now rather than actually earning it. She's represents everything they hate the same way Trump represents everything the left hates.

My favorite part on facebook is a random white nobody trash man is mocking a 29 year old congresswoman because she used to be a waitress

They don’t understand the key part of that sentence is she is a 29 year old congresswoman.
