Late on this, but if it's anything other than an automated factory and 600 IT jobs, 575 of which will be filled by H1Bs, I'd be shocked.

Plus all the numbers will be mysteriously divided by 10 by the time it happens anyway.

Does the Senate have the option for another vote to over-ride Trump's veto, or not?

Yes, but I think they would only vote on it if the House overrides the veto first.

Need 2/3rds majority in House and Senate to override, so not gonna happen.

They do but they're at least 8 votes short.

I'm just glad it took this long for Trump to figure out he can just do whatever he wants anyway.

If When Newsom runs for President I won't forget this. It's not just about the DP. He has principles and he's acting on them.
There is a good chance that he passes some kind of order restricting ammunition sales in the state as well during his term which would be a huge shot across the bow and earn major props.

Next step is for our legislature to get rid of the death penalty altogether. A bill has passed the state Senate, just need the state House, which has a comfortable Dem majority, to approve and it's done.
Washington Senate passes death penalty repeal bill
It really is a shame Inslee isnt more well known. He would have my vote for his 2020 run if he had a glimmer of a shot.

So the House passed a resolution 420-0 that the Mueller report should be made public when it's finished. Lindsey Graham unilaterally blocked it from a vote in the Senate because it doesn't say anything about investigating how the DOJ went easy on Hillary. What a sycophant.

Re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: State of Emergency

So one senator could have just stood up and said "I block the UIGEA from going to a vote!" and we all still have something to do on Saturday night?

Sorry, I misread the thread. I think committee chairmen can block bills from coming out of their committee. Although the UIGEA that ultimately passed wasn't given to the Senate via a committee. It came via conference, in which the House and Senate leadership get together and come up with a compromise version of a bill they both passed but with key differences. That goes directly to the floor rather than to committee again.

Re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: State of Emergency

Schumer asked for unanimous consent to pass the motion; Graham denied that request. It only takes one guy to object to unanimous consent, obviously. Schumer said he would bring the motion back at a later date. Probably they have more pressing things to do than hold a debate on it.

Come on death for me before that happens. One time baby.
I think when he trashes all faith in our elections he may, intentionally or inadvertently, trigger violent unrest. His supporters are going to believe the election was stolen from them, and his supporters include neo-Nazis, nut jobs with 17 guns, Bikers for Trump, etc, etc...

What happens if his rhetoric triggers another MAGA-bomber whose bombs go off? Or instead of driving a car into a crowd, what if a neo-Nazi takes a few AR-15's and shoots up the Democratic side of a state legislature of a state Trump says stole the election from him? Then Trump says something like, "I warned you it would be very bad if you stole an election from me..." and away we go.

I mean, ****, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see neo-Nazis with guns or Bikers for Trump looking all tough hanging out around polling places in 2020. In fact, I'd be surprised if this does NOT happen somewhere. They already had the big ICE/CBP/whatever demonstrations in El Paso during the midterms.

We don't live in a totally free, fair, safe democracy that has free, fair elections without any intimidation anymore.
