Cold take: morons who steal posters from hotels in NK do not deserve to be beaten to death.

Do we know that he actually stole a poster? I know they said he did and they beat him until he also said he did but that doesn't mean he did when it's NK we're talking about

Trump acts like they have a Guantanamo or something. Who knows where they were! Prisons bad! I guess the way we are handling the separated children doesn't help lmao.

Now that Lumpy might be hauled before Congress, it’s worth revisiting this gem of a story about a troll who impersonated Hannity and got some surprising results:

Quote:
That was about a week after WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange sent a private message to a Twitter account he wrongly believed was helmed by Sean Hannity promising “some news about Warner,” the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Trumpy coworker said yesterday that this happened on Obama's watch and Trump did everything he could to fix that mistake, but it's really Obama's fault for not getting him back sooner.

Figure that will satisfy any confusion for them.

Another beauty. Anything good that happened on Obama's watch ie the economy gets credited to Trump. Anything bad, well that was on Obama's watch.

Tell your co-worker that I said to go **** himself.

I’m a Ted Lieu Stan but he is doing my head in. Yesterday he was chastising twitter for getting #TrumpFails trending today he is dancing that #FireKushner is trending.

His reason he was upset about #Trumpfails is because Trump represents America. I think a lot of people understand that.

Btw Warmbler family just realessed state saying Kim Jong and Nirth Korea wholly to blame for death and no amount of trump kissing Kim Jong’s ass changes that.

Yeah but if they get rid of their nuclear weapons we can all go and rent new hotel rooms on the beach. They've got a beautiful beach ya know. There's hospitality and then there's North Korean hospitality. It's devastating.

Why does this upset you at this point? I ask myself the same thing every day. It's a feature not a bug. They never argue in good faith but all conservative media outlets are so coordinated that they just deflect and spin things so hard their base can't keep up.

By the time they've flipped sides they've made a big issue out of so many non-issues that the idiots watching Fox don't even remember that these people once "held" the opposite viewpoint. And further the effort is so coordinated that as long as they only consume conservative "news" the fact that they've contradicted themselves never comes up at all.

A perfect example is my former co-worker. I told him Trump borrowed MAGA from Reagan and he has convinced himself that I'm lying. This is a 65 year old guy who is OBSESSED with "politics" and blogs about it EVERY SINGLE DAY.

He also called me a liar for saying Trump is now stealing Hillary's campaign slogan and when I showed him evidence he simply flipped and said its just a good slogan and he should borrow it. If it's the other way? Republican "news" stations would've called for her to be investigated for 3 months straight. It would be plastered everywhere. That's why this Cohen thing was a "waste of time" but 30+ Benghazi hearings later they're still crying foul.

Basically everything went to **** as soon as the fairness doctrine got shredded and Murdoch and Ailes got involved. One side presents real issues and facts and the other side is 100% a coordinated slander and propaganda effort that is passed off as news. Nevermind the amplifying effect of social media where anyone can say anything with next to no repurcussions and olds literally believe and reshare everything they read.

At this point how the **** do we even combat this? People in the Fox News bubble simply don't even see what's actually happening outside of it at all. They have a major blind spot because they're all riled up about they took er jerbs, they took er guns, reverse racism and whatever other racist conspiracy theories they've cooked up this week. It's grifters using identity politics to enrich themselves at the expense of those voting for them and as long as they're able to keep pumping out the bull**** this problem isn't going away.

I want to be able to want criminals held accountable but also be aware/point out that the victims own actions contributed to their predicament. To me that's not "victim blaming", that's common sense.

It's not even a double standard, it is a completely different goal. One group of people wants the truth, the other wants to hide it.

Look at the difference between how AOC reacts to being misquoted compared to Trump. She tries to set the record straight because she wants clarity, what she actually said matters. He actually sees it as a victory because it aids his smoke screen. The same is true for any ****ing liar--from a cheating spouse to a thief to a lazy employee.

FFS, we are actually at a point where the entirety of the narrative against Cohen is he is a liar who can't be trusted therefore everything he says you don't like is not just suspect--it is untrue! What a defense. If that were the case Sammy the Bull would not have been able to sink Gotti. Every conspiracy is bulletproof because any cooperators are scumbags so you never have to worry about them turning on you. Just make sure you hang out with **** heads and you are safe. I wouldn't let my 7 year old get away with this kind of logic for sneaking a candy FFS, but we here we are. It is not the internet morons who have no accountability to the truth doing it, it is the god damned president every day. He actually implied that Hilary was paying for Cohen's lawyer today and it didn't even move the needle a bit. Only thing left is a literal 2+2=5 from his twitter feed.

You're referring to the guy who stole a poster at a hotel as a criminal? I'm not saying that isn't some kind of crime, but really?

But I guess that doesn't even matter to a lot of people. Seems like people think he deserved to be beaten to death just for going to NK.

No. In this scenario NK is the criminal. I want NK held accountable but I also want to say that Warmbier was an idiot to go to NK in the first place, let alone engage in any shenanigans while he was there (assuming he did).

Yup. I tried for years to get my parents to see this and they refuse. They're no longer a part of my life. I had to listen to them rant and rave about RW conspiracies and then as soon as I refuted anything with facts they told me I'm ridiculous and biased and would immediately cut off the conversation. They claimed to have facts but refused to present them because it was never worth their effort and I wouldn't change my mind anyway - aka there was no evidence just the feels.

On the other hand I'd send 10+ articles from multiple sources when they asked for evidence and of course they were all liberal sites that are fake. I need to get better sources. I got brainwashed at college. I'll see their point once I really work hard and the browns come after my precious precious hard earned Republican bux.

I made the point time and time again that the ****ing president is spreading conspiracy theories and lies to millions of people. The president! "Well it's just Twitter and it's not a big deal. He's just being honest." I mean we had family escape the Holocaust and they truly believe that Soros is evil and worked with Hitler.

At this point it's just best to give up on changing the minds of people who think this way. Hell even getting frustrated isn't worth it. We have to take action and instead show others who are centrist or uninterested the BS that's going on. Those are the only people you have a chance at changing and only if they really do care and want to make a difference.

I’m obviously not saying he deserved it, just that I’m not too upset when recklessly irresponsible people get into trouble.

Also I wonder if his parents learned their lesson after they let Trump use them as props.

There are a lot of idiots who do things way more likely to cause themselves harm. For some things people feel like it's necessary to go on record about how it's their fault and for some they don't.

Some of this has to do with NK I guess, but I think that's largely BS as no one gets proportional **** for going to Saudi Arabia, China, Russia, Zimbabwe, or the USA. But some of this reminds me of the reaction to that Into the Wild kid, which also pisses me off.

Re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: State of Emergency

GQ did a story last year and they said that he likely tried to commit suicide, as the reporting that he was beaten and physically tortured was incorrect and in fact NK has historically gone out of its way to treat foreign prisoners well because they are valuable bargaining chips. But Trump and the US government used the reports of physical torture to put pressure on the regime and the grieving Warmbier family likely went with that excuse as well.
