So their parents’ employees bought off of them to curry favor with their parents, but they thought it was their wile or charm.

A lesson they use today with foreign governments buying rooms at their DC hotel or granting patents or even bribes to curry favor with the president.

And yes, they learned the lesson of “leverage daddy’s name” again and again as they moved on in business

In a sane world he would have investigators banging on his door tonight and arresting him for witness intimidation. We have allowed too much, this needs to be made an example of. Maximum sentence.

Popehat is usually very quick to explain why these type of things aren't technically illegal, or can't/won't be prosecuted. That he says Gaetz will have to lawyer up over this tweet, means he's at real risk.

But in a phone interview shortly after he posted the item, the Florida Republican insisted that he was not engaging in witness intimidation at all. *

“No,” he stressed, “it is challenging the veracity and character of a witness. We do it everyday. We typically do it during people's testimony.”

“This is what it looks like to compete in the marketplace of ideas,” he added.
I don't think that's what marketplace of ideas means

So Gaetz is basically Trump's Congressional errand boy on this kind of stuff, which means that Trump is shook by Cohen's public testimony tomorrow...

In reality, Gaetz is probably pretty likely to be censured by House Dems on a party line vote, but nothing more will happen to him. This is America in 2019, after all.
