The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter

Posting a story about how trump is lying is like posting one about how the sun will rise tomorrow.

I have taped my tie before, but that's only in a situation where that loop that the skinny part gets tucked into gets torn off/damaged and therefore can't do it's job. I use one piece of tape going across the back of the tie.

That part is still intact on Trump's tie, so he doesn't need the tape. Now, I see a piece of tape on that loop, which might mean that it is broken. In that case, YOU'RE A ****ING BILLIONAIRE (supposedly) AND THE POTUS AND CAN GET A NEW TIE IN LIKE 30 SECONDS! If it's not broken and that's just more tape, then that's more stupidity.

Cliffs: It's not so bad to tape a tie if you need to, but he doesn't need to, so he's dumb.
I had a Trump brand tie (bought like 8 or 9 years ago likely from a Ross or Nordstrom rack or some ****.) The loop came off, but I used a small safety pin instead of scotch tape. I never imagined that was classy, but it beats the billionaires I guess. I may still have it somewhere. If I can find it should I shoot it with a handgun, or maybe pay a hooker to pee on it?

I would snap buy this. it would go right next to my copy of "Disorder in the Court" as prime bathroom reading.

Yeah, I agree with this. I was ranking by funniest.

I, too, had a Trump brand tie - it was from about 10-12 years ago. The loop came off mine, too. What a couple of suckers we were buying Trump brand products.

I searched for it to destroy after the election, but I couldn't find it. Yeah, yeah, maybe it falls under destroying my own **** to own the Trumpers, but I wasn't going to post about it on social media... Just at this point the most satisfaction I could get out of a Trump branded tie would be to watch it burn.

Depends if he goes down as a puppet. Then the submission to Putin one or when the Russians were in the oval office will beat that out.

Do you guys throw pink dildos at the faces of politicians the way they do in NZ?

No, we just use the famous laconic Australian wit.

Abbott was leader of the Opposition at the time.

Oh there was this guy as well, after the end of Abbott's time as PM:

Quote:
The court heard Labe had been drinking at the Whaler pub in Salamanca Place when he saw Mr Abbott walk past.

Labe, who has worked as a DJ under the name "Funknukl", told his friends he wanted to headbutt Mr Abbott.

When he saw Mr Abbott walk past a short time later, Labe followed the former prime minister and asked if he could shake his hand.

When Mr Abbott extended his hand, Labe grabbed it and headbutted him, before walking off and saying "you f***ing deserved it".
I drank at the Whaler last time I was in Hobart, I didn't know until now that that's where it happened.

Quote:
The Hobart DJ was arrested the next day and told police in an interview there was no one reason for his actions.

“I just hate Tony Abbott,” the court heard he told police. “I can’t specify anything.”
Fair enough.

If there are protests - and I imagine there will be - I might head along, check it out. I'm guessing they'll have him locked down pretty tight though.

It gets lost in all the madness, but Don Jr. 100% lied to Congress and, absent complete abdication of duty by Mueller, is getting indicted eventually.

NJ Senate passes bill that would keep Trump off 2020 ballot unless he releases tax returns
The New Jersey state Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly voted to pass a bill that would keep presidential candidates off the state’s 2020 ballot unless they release their tax returns.

The controversial measure would deny candidates for president and vice president a spot on the state ballot if they do not publicly release five of their most recent tax returns at least 50 days before the general election in 2020.

The bill, if passed, would also bar the state’s electors from voting for candidates for president and vice president as part of the Electoral College system if they choose not to comply with the legislation.

Is that constitutional?
02-22-2019 , 11:41 AM
Afaik there's nothing in the US consitution that dictates how a state chooses its electors. It doesn't even have to be by popular vote.

Article II: "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors..."

Edit: Not so sure about that last part denying the appointed electors the right to vote for anyone they want though.

Don't see why it wouldn't be. In fact, the Constitution requires that states set their own ballot access laws and forbids the federal government from interfering. The US is signatory to a treaty which forbids ballot access laws discriminating on the usual stuff (race, sex etc) but I can't see why laws about tax returns would be a problem.

I did not know that the individual US states have this much discretion when it comes to federal elections.
