The section of the barrier that Mr. Trump showcased this week was not new construction, but rather replacement for existing fencing. The money for the steel-slatted barrier came from a congressional appropriation in 2017, not from newly authorized spending in the recent deal that averted a government shutdown, or from money the president is seeking to take from other federal projects under his national emergency declaration from last week.
A construction contract for the replacement bollard fencing was awarded on Jan. 22, 2018, to a company in Montana, according to a news release from United States Customs and Border Protection.
“The area of the border wall replacement will be a 20-mile section of existing vehicle barrier located just west of the Santa Teresa Port of Entry and extending westward” in New Mexico, the release said. “The existing barrier will be replaced with an 18- to 30-foot-high bollard-style wall.”

I have taped my tie before, but that's only in a situation where that loop that the skinny part gets tucked into gets torn off/damaged and therefore can't do it's job. I use one piece of tape going across the back of the tie.
That part is still intact on Trump's tie, so he doesn't need the tape. Now, I see a piece of tape on that loop, which might mean that it is broken. In that case, YOU'RE A ****ING BILLIONAIRE (supposedly) AND THE POTUS AND CAN GET A NEW TIE IN LIKE 30 SECONDS! If it's not broken and that's just more tape, then that's more stupidity.
Cliffs: It's not so bad to tape a tie if you need to, but he doesn't need to, so he's dumb.
I had a Trump brand tie (bought like 8 or 9 years ago likely from a Ross or Nordstrom rack or some ****.) The loop came off, but I used a small safety pin instead of scotch tape. I never imagined that was classy, but it beats the billionaires I guess. I may still have it somewhere. If I can find it should I shoot it with a handgun, or maybe pay a hooker to pee on it?

Yeah, I agree with this. I was ranking by funniest.

I, too, had a Trump brand tie - it was from about 10-12 years ago. The loop came off mine, too. What a couple of suckers we were buying Trump brand products.
I searched for it to destroy after the election, but I couldn't find it. Yeah, yeah, maybe it falls under destroying my own **** to own the Trumpers, but I wasn't going to post about it on social media... Just at this point the most satisfaction I could get out of a Trump branded tie would be to watch it burn.

Depends if he goes down as a puppet. Then the submission to Putin one or when the Russians were in the oval office will beat that out.
The New Jersey state Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly voted to pass a bill that would keep presidential candidates off the state’s 2020 ballot unless they release their tax returns.
The controversial measure would deny candidates for president and vice president a spot on the state ballot if they do not publicly release five of their most recent tax returns at least 50 days before the general election in 2020.
The bill, if passed, would also bar the state’s electors from voting for candidates for president and vice president as part of the Electoral College system if they choose not to comply with the legislation.
