I work for a company that upgrades cell phone towers for a major network and the above is correct. We are starting to roll out 5G upgrades in the the the next few months. I am not an RF engineer but my understanding is that its just additional capacity and not really 5G. And I can also confirm that 6G is a joke, he might as well say 10G.

Pretty much impossible to have a top five or top ten. Every time I am reminded of another one I nod my head.

6G hasn’t even started discussions with the wireless standards group; it’s not a thing in any shape or form at this point other than we can guess it’ll come some number of years after 5G...definitely after his presidency even if he got reelected
