Anyway, I had mentioned yesterday that the hiring of Sarah Isgur to "coordinate political coverage" seemed misleading. She's not going to coordinate coverage without extensive television experience. She is most likely someone who is politically connected and can help CNN hook up with more sources. I have no idea what the guy is insinuating by "doing Trump's bidding". If she's going to be working for CNN, part of her job would be to filter out attempts to politically manipulate the network through her.
Re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: State of Emergency
i'm old enough to remember when the starr report broke the internet (was a freshman in college at the time). i don't expect to see the same level of detail in a public mueller report, but here's hoping.
Quote:
After the four year investigation of Clinton, the Office of the Independent Counsel delivered its 445-page report to Congress on September 9, 1998.[4]
For two days, the report sat unread in the Ford House Office Building erstwhile as Democrats and Republicans in the House of Representatives debated what do with it. On September 11, the House voted 363–63 to release the report to the public.[5] When the report was uploaded to the internet, it became a sensation, with twelve percent of adult Americans — 20 million people — browsing the web at once to browse the document. "It's probably the single highest number of people who have ever used the computer to access a single document," David Webber of the Frank Lutz polling company told CNN.[6]

I mean, CNN literally said her job would be to "coordinate coverage," so either that's what she'll be doing or the term has no meaning as far as I can tell.

Yeah. I think the term is part of the problem. You could take it to mean that she's going to be the "big boss" of the operation making a lot of important decisions about the direction of the network's coverage. But as someone who worked for years in local media, I can tell you that's not likely. There's too much you need to know to be able to pull that off.
Having said that, she may be able to provide a name of someone who can be used in an interview segment about a particular political topic. Is that coordinating coverage? Yeah. You could say that it is. She can sit around the conference table and toss out some story ideas that maybe no one else had thought of. Trust me. CNN is not going to put a know-nothing-about-tv nobody into a leadership role. She's not being hired to turn CNN into FOX News. But she probably brings something to the table that CNN wants...what that is exactly is between her and CNN.

Yeah I stumbled across a quasi transcript of KAC on Chris Cuomo last night. There was an implication they might not even share the report. I don’t know how someone who has access to it, regardless of its conclusions, would not leak it.
We should have a good idea in this very thread when Trump is fully briefed on the report. Although I remain slightly skeptical it is due any day now.

Yeah I have seen people more knowledgeable about news media than myself saying they are concerned because she will basically be deciding what is covered, partially, but really responsible who is assigned to cover what. Doesn’t seem she is qualified for such a job.
My biggest question is after recusing himself, Sessions did and said almost nothing until he was fired. She was his spokesperson which means she basically did nothing while working at the Justuce Department.
I also have to assume 2020 election coverage coordinator being given to her has to ruffle feathers.
Most people believe it is a job with a good amount of decision making power influencing how CNN covers the 2020 election. If that is not the case it is on CNN to clarify that, which would be awkward at best.

Meh, not sure about this. The regs governing special counsels don’t explicitly prohibit Mueller from giving it to Congress. It just says it’s classified and the special counsel has to deliver a copy to the AG. In some situations the AG has some authority to determine whether Ian action is appropriate and he can make the report classified, but I don’t think it’s clear from those regs that he could block a congressional subpoena. However, these are all regulations, so the penalty for violating them probably isn’t going to be that steep, unless there is some other law that releasing the report would violate (there may be, this isn’t my area of expertise).

It’s not exactly the same but when he didn’t there was sort of a collective shrug. In this case Repubs almost certainly won’t hold trump accountable for any crimes but even if they try to he’ll probably just say meh, MAGA and everyone will move on.

KAC last night on Cuomo basically argued that directing people to commit crimes doesn’t count as a crime. Hard evidence of all of trump’s closest advisors and campaign executives colluding with russia STILL does not prove collusion. That’s gonna be their line for when the report comes out.

Except it’s not the same
Gov wore some blackface. Sure it’s a bad look.
But trump is being accused of treason
If gov was credibly accused of treason I don’t think you would get the same response.

I know nothing matters anymore, but I'm pretty sure that's the literal definition of conspiracy.

Wow. John Harris, son of Mark Harris the bogus NC09 winner just thre his Dad under the bus. Said he warned him. Understood that the campaign had turned in the relevant emailz but then learned that Dad and campaign attorney never turned in the Emailz.
Chance JR, Eric, and Ivana have that sort of ethics and honesty is 0.0 percent.
