I agree. But the Dems are super dumb and never adjust their thinking to the opponent they're facing.

I was exposed to it but i never got the pox so i have life long immunity! They did not have vaccination when i was a kid and should probably get it before someone with it or shingles ****s me...

Hard to say. A fair number of people have subclinical chickenpox - meaning you don't get the full body rash - maybe just a pox or two - if they're on the scalp or back, you might notice them and just think you have a routine viral infection. You'd still have the immunity though.

The problem is that there are a LOT of immunocompromised people walking around - add up HIV patients, people on chronic steroid therapy for any number of reasons, chemotherapy patients transplant patients - they're all at much increased risk for getting sick even if they were "protected" by having chickenpox when they were kids.

My answer is to confine all families that don’t vaccinate to old arena and they can only get out if they acquire immunity to all the childhood diseases through infection. If they die, they die. Oops.

When I was about 40 I went to my doctor to have him look at some red spots on my neck. Tells me he thinks I have chicken pox, like WTF. I never caught it as a kid and they didn't have a vaccine back then. Doc calls me later that night after getting lab results back and says I should head to the ER because there's blood in my urine. The ER sticks me in quarantine, they said it was the first case of adult chicken pox they'd had in years.

I do not recommend this ride. Would not go back again. 1 star.

Does not sound fun and their outfits are far more boring.

This seems fair. They're free to remove themselves from the gene pool if they want to but don't take us with you.

Most of these hipster illnesses like measles kill pretty routinely in developing nations, where a few bucks worth of medicine is unattainable for those on the lowest rungs of the ladder. Meanwhile the middle class in the west read a book by a homoeopathic "doctor" and think they know better.

We didn't even question vaccinating our girls and I am pretty comfortable with the argument that vaccination shouldn't be optional. Like many other things we mandate or restrict for health reasons.

Unchecked executive power currently in the hands of an irrational moron with a hard on for dictators. What could go wrong?

I have been amused recently with the silver lining that if America does become a pseudo dictatorship and if there is an election and if the electoral process chooses a progressive leader who will stand up for their principles, basically just Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders, they can finally take catastrophic climate change and school shootings seriously.

Philippines has vaccinations available for measles free. However we also have our own special brand of anti-vaxxers as well as importing all the US idiots.

And yeah. Currently in the middle of a measles outbreak. Kids dying.

That's what all the guns are for isn't it - to defend against a tyrannical government?

There's going to be some real head scratching amongst Trunpism Federalists it that ever comes to pass.

Yup, its really bad. Being honest I don't know where the anti vax has come from in PH, I presume there is a lot of selection bias in who I know in the country but I would have assumed it would be very pro vax.

Going to be in quezon city next month, still a bit uncomfortable with the idea that you can still be vulnerable to measles after vaccination. But the overall risk is very low all things considered.

Well it appears that the video was indeed taken down following a report from the copyright holder Universal - and hence why we got another version posted.

I think there's a shingles vaccine I'm supposed to get soon even though I've already had shingles, and it only lasts about 5 years. What kind of weak ass vaccine is that? On the plus side, it's probably less likely to give me adult onset autism then a longer lasting vaccine so it might be worth risking it. I guess I'll need to watch some 2-hour YouTubes before deciding

I got ****ing shingles when I was in my 30's and I got the amazing kind - in my eye and spread to my face and head. I have a couple scars on my nose and the best part is that I have a scar on my cornea that can't be lasered off. Permanent vision damage. The only way to fix it is a cornea transplant, but the doctor obviously doesn't want to do that unless it gets bad enough. Hopefully with the eye drop I take daily, that won't happen.

Jeebus. Recommendation for the vaccine seems to be at 60, but approved after 50. When should I get it? Hobbes? I'm 51 - had chicken pox when I was like 8.
02-16-2019 , 08:31 PM
Shingles is the only time I've legit thought I might be dying from an illness.

my doctor told me i'll get the shingles vaccine when i turn 50.

Wait I'm turning 50. Should I get a shingles vaccine? I mean it sounds like a hilarious illness to get. But apparently reports from the field are that the symptoms does not mirror the innate humor of the name.

Other funny-sounding diseases:

rickets
lombago
rheumatism
scabies
restless leg syndrome
irritable bowel syndrome
empatigo
bursitis
