It's not about turning them to the Dem side. It's about depressing their vote. They'll obviously never ever vote for a Dem, BUT by forcing losses on Trump so constantly and egregiously to the point that even Fox criticizes him for being weak, a pussy, etc. and that gets through to even 1% of his base, and they decide on election day to just stay home or even vote for LOLSchultz, it increases the chances of a Dem win.
Just think about how the reason why Trump won is because of razor thin margins in a handful of swing states. We flip that by increasing our numbers, but also lowering their numbers. As it is, I do think we're in a good position because I think enthusiasm on the left and even in the middle will be significantly increased because some % of the electorate who didn't vote/voted 3rd party in '16 now see the importance of ousting Trump in 2020. But having even a teeny tiny % of Trumpies not vote could be significant.
