Just to reiterate: it's redicous to imagine that we are 'doing' politics here in Politardia. See: the reason Trump won was certain posters here were "yelling and screaming" the r-word. Instead, what we are doing is chatting around a virtual watercooler... simply for our own amusement.
First, I really doubt that we'll be seeing shutdowns for a while going forward. Last time their were several actions by TSA that almost reached critical mass. Then the air traffic controller's stopped the shutdown in less 24 hours.
Here is the left & right of things...
Left: working folks exerting organized power. This is the definition of being "left".
Right: Ignoring, minamizing working folks successful actions, while fruadently taking credit for their "West wing" shinanagines solving anything. Which side have the Donkeys been on?
Left: wages not being paid is wrong, full stop. This is not up for compromise. The politicians must be taught that if they mess with our wages we will shut your whole system. Every time -and- on day one.
Right: messing with wages is just another "fair game" tactic in the grand "west wing" song and dance we do as Donkeys and Elephants. Any call to take this arrow out of our respective quarrels would make harder to "reach across the isle" and "compromise"/etc/etc.
Right now, if either of the main parties advocate for the general strike, it would effectively make this whole shutdown tactic in unviable
Which side are the Donkeys on?
Left: the "wall" is a deadly humanitium disaster, an environmental disaster, and overtly racist. There is no compromise with this kinda thing. I need
Right: Let's get a committee together so we can compromise. Which side are the Donkeys on.
