Trying to think of movies with Tom Cruise as a general. I feel,Valkyrie was one of his highest ranks, but I am not sure he ever was a General.
Although maybe he was a General as Bert Store.

So much Charlie Brown in the Democrats.
“We won’t be able to get anything done on taxes.”
Dummy dumb dumbs. That will or will not happen regardless of how and when they demand Trump’s tax returns.
I still have a strong part of me that says the democrats will screw all this up, culminating in a Trump re election.

I think it is more likely that his returns are bad but not terrible. I come to that conclusion because there is no reason to think that Trump completely trusted that they would not be leaked (I'm kind of surprised they haven't been) and even someone with his 63 IQ would be reluctant to take that risk if the consequences were dire.

In July Trump praised Pfizer, and himself, for Pfizer pausing price increases on drugs.
Pfizer along with many others jacked prices on many drugs Janusry 1st. Thanks Trump.

He's got NPD. People knowing he's not nearly as rich as he pretends to be would be devastating to him. When CC roasted him, money was the one topic that was off limits. Dude is paranoid about people knowing his net worth. If he was worth as much as he really says he is, he'd tout that as proud as a peacock. And yet, he doesn't. He's a fraud. The panhandler in front of his building probably has more money.

Not broke like ordering off the Del Taco dollar menu broke, but ran out of credit except with the Russian mafia and some crooked bankers, hugely in debt, but still has millions of dollars available kind of broke maybe.
But being POTUS is never having to pay your debts for him, so I expect he's solvent now after a couple years in office.

Take what risk? We know he’s not above unwisely blundering into a high political office that draws attention to his criminal past, and it’s not like he can go back and uncommit tax fraud.

The guy praised the hiring of Jeffery Beauregard Sessions the 3rd. One of the most evil and hideous creatures in the world. If Romney was anywhere close to power he would be doing the exact same **** as trump. He wouldn't be blundering around like a rabid dog but is that really a positive? Trumps laziness and incompetence are literally his best features. If you want to rehabilitate this heinous creature because he uttered some mealy mouthed words then we really are in trouble.

Well, I think we all agree that the GOP should cast off Trumpism (though there's an argument it would be best if they clung to it and went off the cliff with him). It's a process, lose a piece here and a piece there and eventually the Jenga tower collapses. To the extent Romney is another brick removed from the wall, the erosion proceeds apace.

This is absolutely how I feel and I suspect many others do too. The GOP dying off due to demographics seems far preferable to these guys going back to dog whispers.
I also think it's the most realistic path to a reasonably-governed America. Like someone said earlier, GOP voters have gotten a taste of the hard stuff and now I don't see them going back to cucks like Romney.

Trumpism IS the GOP and always has been. There's no casting off to be done.

wat? how do you not understand at this point that trumpism exists because the base demanded it after decades of GOP priming? THIS IS WHO THEY ARE AND IT'S WHAT THEY WANT, WHITE SUPREMACY HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE ENDGAME.

This is just plain stupid. You either don’t understand trumpism or know nothing about American political history.
