I am basically sure Putin doesn’t like this. Putin isn’t stupid enough to get in a real arms race with US and repeat the mistakes of his Soviet predecessors.

Putin’s strategy... paraphrasing Hamilton’s Washington, provoke outrage, outrun, make it impossible to justify the costs of the fight. Probably could find Hannibal quotes too.

He’s not stupid enough to believe Russia can win vs US (and EU) in a full blown arms race.

This is happening because Putin's been breaking the treaty for years already, so it's dumb for the US to still abide by it. We also have a treaty breaking missile in the works.
