There is something there about some people quite clearly preferring their heroes to be phony. Reagan the actor was super tough and so is bone-spur Trump. Kerry, McCain, GWHB are all questionable. Same thing with religion. HRC seems to be actually pretty religious, but the TV-Evangelist loving population thinks Trump is actually more religious. Carter was just seen as a moral scold because it was obvious how religious he was.

It's that these people that like the phonies are phonies themselves. They can all slap each other's backs and get along as long as there is no one around to make them look bad.

Sarah Sanders, balefully squinting at the camera, gamely muttered, “This has nothing to do with the President.” Oh, Sarah. That’s like saying sucking down a brace of Filet O’Fish sandwiches thrice daily has nothing to do with Trump’s enormous booty.
I believe the correct term for a group of Filets-o-Fish is a grip.

If he declares an emergency, then no shutdown right? A clean CR to keep the government open, and an emergency to fund the wall.

Seems like his best play is to say "I declare emergency!" and then not really do anything except talk about how, with this emergency he just declared, finally the problem is solved. Deplorables will be psyched but there won't really be anything to sue over.

CNN going straight to it. President Coulter is not amused.

Declare emergency. Send the Army Corps of Engineers to a non-wall area to do [...something...]. Declare victory.

Counterpoint: President Bone-spurs.

If anyone is curious: yes, PizzaGate still lives, and someone just tried to burn down Comet Ping Pong.

You are probably being sarcastic, but I'll respond anyway.

Basically the courts are the primary guardrail remaining to prevent Trump from going full Dictator. Of course, the courts have been pre-stacked in his favor so I don't hold out much hope on that front.

But that doesn't mean there won't be a million lawsuits, including, but not limited to, Trump building his Wall from funds he absconds with after declaring a National Emergency.

Such an emergency that he can wait three weeks to do something about it. Such strong. Much leader

In regards to diverting (absconding) with funds: say the compromise they finally reach is $x billion for border security, but with only a fraction going to actual physical barriers. Can Trump declare an emergency after the bill is signed and then divert that money into his steel slats in excess of what was agreed to?

I forget exactly how Nunberg fits into the whole picture other than his coke bender TV interview, but he was on msnbc a bit ago saying it was very 'ominous' everything that wasn't included in the indictment.

Looking for a more legit source than Raw Story, but:

“Fox News’ Sean Hannity appears to have acted on directives from newly revealed Stone-WikiLeaks emails”

CNN: The single most important sentence in the Roger Stone indictment

Quote:
Here's the sentence: "After the July 22, 2016 release of stolen DNC emails by Organization 1, a senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact STONE about any additional releases and what other damaging information Organization 1 had regarding the Clinton Campaign."

There's a lot to unpack here, but the key phrase is this -- "a senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact STONE about any additional releases."

The question isn't which senior Trump official contacted Stone, but who directed this person to do so. The only logical possibilities could fit in a phone booth. It's conceivable that the only people senior officials would take that kind of direction from would be either Trump or Paul Manafort, his campaign chairman at the time.
The article goes on to point out that Trump mentioned Wikileaks no less than 137 times in the final 4 weeks of the campaign. Because of course everything that we discover about what was happening behind the scenes, it's going to turn out that Trump was blabbing about it publicly the entire time.

The President can declare an emergency for any reason. Emergencies render congress useless. The Courts back it up we have a Dictator. Checks and Balances, etc. McConnell raids the white house with his AR. He becomes President.

By next year this time, I’m hoping everyone around Trump is in jail or under indictment...

Speaking of courts- when this guy gets completely exposed as a fraud winner, maximum pressure needs to be applied to all his judges to resign. Especially Neil And the Rapist. (That could be there comedy duo name in there post Supreme career).

Pelosi for President.
01-25-2019 , 08:08 PM
Was McConnell absent the day when they described Vetoes and Veto-Overrides to members of Congress?
01-25-2019 , 08:13 PM
Is this the first time the democrats have ever won anything? It feels weird.
01-25-2019 , 08:17 PM
Man that Pelosi back and forth is total ownage and completely cuts the heart of how much of a scumbag Mitch is. I was not a fan of hers but she is growing on me.

In our lifetimes it is one of the bigger left wing wins but it is a small temporary win in the grand scheme.
