I just read Mitt Rmoney's op-ed piece. Why was I expecting something good? That thing is weak as hell.

Ronna? Not just on Twitter, she stopped using the "Romney" name publicly altogether.

Before Ronna Romney McDaniel took over as Republican National Committee chairwoman earlier this year, President Trump had a request: Would she be willing to stop using her middle name publicly?

Trump followed up by saying in a lighthearted way that McDaniel, the niece of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, could do what she wanted, according to two people familiar with the comments. But the change was soon plain for all to see. Though she had used her maiden name for years in Michigan, where her grandfather George W. Romney had been governor, McDaniel dropped "Romney" from most official party communications and has rarely used it since.

Let's all remember that it was the Romney/Ryan campaign that ran on a message of slashing school lunch programs. He doesn't give a **** about Trumpism per se, he just wants to go back to the old, respectable model of tossing out genteel dogwhistles to the marks and giving free goodies to the megawealthy.

Yea remember, Romney is the guy that said he doesn't care about the 47% that will never vote for him. He also bankrupted a toy company that had something like 500 nationwide stores for Bain Capital. He's just as evil as the rest of the GOP but he's a nice guy b/c he doesn't say anything mean I guess.

Most of them don't care about people who don't vote for them. He said he doesn't care about people who don't pay taxes, meaning poor/lower middle class people.

A couple of interesting observations from Harry Reid in this profile. Harry Reid Has a Few Words for Washington

Quote:
On the Friday afternoon before Christmas, just hours before the government shut down over Trump’s demands for more funding for a border wall, I called Reid to see how closely he was following this latest brinkmanship. “Landra and I have been watching the news; we have it on now,” Reid told me. The shutdown, he allowed, was “interesting.” Reid takes an anthropological interest in the changes that Trump has wrought on his old institution. “You can’t legislate when you have a chief executive who’s weird, for lack of a better description,” he told me. He said he could never understand how his former Senate colleague Jeff Sessions allowed himself to be so abused and humiliated by the president. “Why in the hell didn’t Sessions leave?” he said. “Same with Kelly,” referring to the departing chief of staff, John Kelly. “I’d say, ‘Go screw yourself.’ I could not look my children in the eye.”

I asked him if he could identify at all with Trump’s dark worldview. “I disagree that Trump is a pessimist,” Reid said, as if to allow him that mantle would be paying him an undeserved compliment. “I think he’s a person who is oblivious to the real world.”

Is there any way Trump could die and they put his tiny shriveled discolored Swiss cheese brain on display next to a healthy brain with labels "Trump's Brain" and "Normal Brain"?

I imagine he gets off to the propaganda that portrays him as the god emperor supreme alpha leader that he and some of his fans think he is.

Ol' Don the Con is refusing to sign the CR and keep the government open because of immigration. So when immigration judges get furloughed what happens to their cases? They get pushed back without resolution, causing more of a log jam than what already existed. Stable Genius Indeed!

Quote:
The partial federal government shutdown has closed most immigration courts, forcing judges to indefinitely postpone hearings that had been scheduled months, and sometimes years, in advance. The delay promises to further stress the immigration courts, a system already operating with a record-high backlog of over 800,000 cases.

Shutdown Causing Backlog To Increase In Immigration Cases

Government is in 10th day of a shutdown but let's focus on what's really important.

declaring fealty to Trump over your own uncle to trigger the libs.

Good, let them fight. Romney can go **** himself, but I will happily watch the GOP rip itself apart if it's him vs trump.
Narrator: the GOP did not rip itself apart; Romney caved like everyone else
Wait...what?

Like, you do remember how the story ends, right...?

I understand that it's worth going out of your way to stay in the president's good graces to help get your agenda passed, but do they really need to fellate him this much?

I think the point he is making is that David Koresh has few to no-one following his teaching whereas Jesus still has a fair few.

Hardcore Harry Reid

that's nice

They know the only way to get and stay in his good graces is to compliment him and show undying fealty. Anyone who's ever known or worked with him knows this.

I wonder what the GOP's plan is as far as Trump goes. You know that all things considered equal, they'd rather him not be the president.

I guess technically we're still live to have a Branch Davidian president in 2313, but it doesn't seem all that likely at this point.
01-02-2019 , 02:57 PM
They're just gonna pretend he never happened and go back to saying the quiet parts quietly, and it will all be the same as it ever was.
