Lol, I know of one cop who would interview subjects and before they started he'd set a tape recorder down and push record. Then later when they got a little tongue tied because they were obv guilty as hell and trying to lie, he'd say something like, "Ok it's clear you're not thinking your story through clearly here, let's go off the record and then just chat between ourselves," and then shut the tape recorder off. Meanwhile the entire interview is being video recorded by like six cameras and maybe ten microphones -- i mean, it's a police interrogation room ffs -- but the perps fell for it pretty much every time.

I'm assuming this is a counterfactual statement and not intended to convey acceptance. Is that accurate?

He might be one of the biggest scumbags in history, but you gotta admire someone who can still keep their sense of humor when facing the reality that you're going to get raped every day for the rest of your life.

Everyone knew he was going to lose if he forced a shutdown--I'd bet anything Mitch sternly told him this in no uncertain terms--and the moron goes and does it anyway. It's like he's chasing losses, with Mueller closing in he keeps upping the stakes and losing. Even the "shake things up" low information voters who put him in office are starting to face reality. (Want to get on the local news of people who don't follow politics closely via cable, twitter, and/or NTY? Shutting the government down is like jumping into a spotlight.) Not sure exactly how this will end, but it won't be with everyone living happily ever after.

That reminds me, I wanted to re-propose my $100 "Trump doesn't make it to the start of next year" bet. I lost the last one, but I'm feeling confident. My side is that Trump isn't president on Jan. 1, 2020. Any takers? (One available at this price.)
I'll take it. Even money, right?

Settlement via paypal.

It's totally ****ing happening. And somehow democrats are going to lose on this.

Is this going to just kick the can down the road for 3 weeks? Or is it a way for the GOP to save face and they will quietly pass a long term funding bill with no wall money next month?

So Stone is already booked and out? Must be nice.

Remember when they held the Neteller execs in a holding pen for a weekend and the company immediately agreed to pull out of the US market?
