We shouldn't just be so accepting of this use of military force to arrest a private citizen who has allegedly committed a nonviolent crime.
Probably overkill but he has opined about violent insurrection and I assume he has a bunch of guns.

It's "overkill" almost every single time they do it but they still do it and will continue doing it. Roger ****ing Stone isn't getting special treatment because he's Roger ****ing Stone.

They knocked on his door, waited for him to open it, and appeared to have a polite conversation before arresting him. That indicates that the extra people in full gear were there as a precaution, which is not in itself a bad thing, especially when you're making a high profile arrest that will make front page news across the world. You could argue that using teams of heavily militarized police to execute arrest warrants can encourage the use of excessive force, but this is not a good example of that.

Here is a fun fact about Roger Stone from his Wikipedia article:

"In January 2008, Stone founded Citizens United Not Timid, an anti-Hillary Clinton 527 group with an intentionally obscene acronym."

He's a really great guy.

While I’m obviously thrilled Roger Stone is going to jail, and sincerely hope he dies there, I’m saving the unbridled glee for the visual of Junior, Kushner and/or Ivanka in cuffs.

I have a lot of questions about the day this happens, I'm wondering if sealing the indictments until the day after the next inauguration is the route to go. I think Jr. doing the perp walk is going to be a serious constitutional crisis day, and I'm having a hard time picturing it with Trump in the WH sadly.

Most of these numbers from a Daily Kos article from early 2017. I'm not sure where the numbers for the Trump administration come from, but I would be curious to see the list of 89 indictments. That number sounds high to me.

Now with LaGuardia shutting down and probably a bunch more government services stopping, Trump is at major natural disaster level of catastrophe.
