What's more likely, assuming Trump declares a national emergency here? Next Dem president uses a national emergency on a priority like healthcare, climate change, poverty, gunts, etc... Or next Dem Senate re-instates the filibuster on itself on everything? I know what my money would be on...
It's political malpractice if he declares this national emergency if the next Dem inaugural address isn't this short and sweet...
My fellow Americans, on this historic occasion, I have a few minor housekeeping notes here...
1. Our healthcare situation is a national emergency. Single payer starts tomorrow.
2. Climate change is a national emergency. We're re-entering the Paris Agreement and spending every necessary dollar to address this, starting tomorrow.
3. Mass shootings are a national emergency. No more assault weapons, starting tomorrow.
4. Income inequality and poverty are national emergency. Minimum wage is $15 per hour, starting tomorrow.
5. Have a good night, and God Bless America! [mic drop]

I'm at the point where I just want him to do it already so we can get it over with and see if the courts preserve democracy. It appears to be the inevitable end to this shutdown... and honestly, given that the two endings may well be either Dems cave or he declares a national emergency, I'm hoping for the one in which the Dems don't cave and the courts save us.

"We're going to build a wall, and Puerto Rico's going to pay for it!" probably polls every bit as well with deplorables as the other version.

I wish some news director on CNN or MSNBC would do an A block of sarcastic pro-Trump stock market updates one night. Just a solid 10 minutes of obvious bull**** that he wouldn't understand was high-level trolling, which would lead to a series of epic tweets.

Early stage idea here, but after the WSOP I'm thinking about heading down to San Diego and Tijuana for a few days and spending a day or two volunteering in whatever capacity is possible to help migrants on the Mexico side of the border who our government is ****ing over. If anyone would care to join me, either who will be at the WSOP or lives in SoCal or would like to make a trip out of it, feel free to post a reply or shoot me a PM. I am pretty confident in being able to raise enough money to pay for a good amount of food/water/clothes/whatever is needed, and in being able to reach out and figure out the best way to go about it. I am not fluent in Spanish, but I speak enough to communicate a bit and get by, starting with... "El presidente de los Estados Unidos es estupido. Lo siento. Que necesitas?"

Eight to break the filibuster, 15 to bypass a veto.
