It seems like public opinion should increase its blame for trump and republicans and reduce it for Democrats until it hits just the trumpian base.

So pressure should only increase to pass a clean CR and stop taking the government hostage.

The problem is that Trump just simply does not care about people, so the people caught up as hostages will continue to be hurt, which is another actual crisis.

Itís going to take those 800k protesting en masse by the majority calling in and refusing to work for free before there is enough pressure on trump and republicans to reopen the government.
Yeah I empathize a lot for those people being screwed. Obviously I think lol going to work and not getting paid, but they donít want to lose their job and they hope it will end soon and be made whole.

The problem with that is they will just be used as a tool in the future unless they collectively make a stand and make doing this so unpalatable it stops happening.

Again I canít tell people to do that, itís a huge risk. I just want them to really think about if a job where they can regularly not pay you for long periods of time is worth it. The government actually prevents private employers from doing just that so it is insane the federal government can do it.

I know we're supposed to be nice now, but "old jizz bucket" is being way too kind to Alexander.

Love how the "moderate" Repubs go against the party, but they still get to 51. No coordination at all.

No—the 2018 Senate map was awful for Dems and 2020/2022 are actually good

This was also assuming an ideal world with free and fair elections and no Republican ****ery—I.e. not meant to be a realistic prediction.

No disenfranchisement by itself probably would give Dems a 2-3 point net swing

I'm confused by Tom Cotton not going along with Trump/Republicans. I can only assume the CR wasn't bat**** crazy enough for him.

Dems bill getting more votes that Trump bill should be major talking point. Fact that majority of Senate and House support D bill should be harped on non-stop to make no doubt that this is a Trump shutdown.

2020's better than 2018 but it's still not great, Rs have a lot of seats up for grabs but most of them are in strong R states so Dems have to try to pick off seats in Maine, Colorado, Arizona, and Iowa while they defend Doug Jones in Alabama.

This.

The 2020 map sucks big time.

The 2022 map is much more promising, but it will be a midterm with a Democratic president (hopefully).

Can’t believe he is doing the emergency order.

Next dem president has to immediately declare healthcare emergency and institute single payer.

He and Lee voted against it because it included the temporary DACA relief. They must not have gotten the memo that it was a decoy.

To borrow a line from yesterday's criticism of Sarah Sanders, calling Ted Cruz a "hypocrite" is way too kind. He deserves heaps and heaps of scorn and condemnation.

All these GOP turds are the idiot kids who inherited daddy’s car dealership. It will end horribly, but for a while they’re actually in change with the ability to mess up people’s lives.
