We are discussing the the 4pm Trump offer which is the current political event. I'm not sure I understand. But I am posting in good faith.

The current Trump offer is not enough for the Dems to agree to.

ofc, it was pretty dumb consider it impossible when such a discussion had already happened before.
1) i said M4A <-> wall would never happen
2) i also said trump would never honor any promises/commitments
3) i said DACA <-> wall was stupid
4) nancy told him to go **** himself, sooooooooo

Yeah, that was rich.

OK, newly engaging rep of a particular demographic: considering the Republicans were wiped out in the midterms, isn't the appropriate Dem response: "Re-open the Gov, then we'll talk"?

The Dems certainly have the higher ground here.

Or they can not negotiate with a hostage taker

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate you and awful are on the same team today.

Yo wasn't DACA just fine until Trump took it away?

So he shuts down the govt until Dems fund his wall, then his big concession for wall funding is a promise to undo what he ****ed up?

If so anything but "**** off lol" legitimizes taking govt hostage AND ****ing **** up only to promise to un-**** it up in exchange for X.

Dems doing remarkably well so far, but the deeper we get into this the bigger the stakes are. Gotta stay strong.

Definitely. Also, this whole episode along with Russia stuff (and fewer football games) seems to have engaged more of the populace, who see Trump is flailing. I think they should hold out past the SOTU. Trump is a terrible communicator to anyone but his base.

Hello Awval,

Just dropped in here to say that no amount of me banning people who direct coarse words or personal attacks at you will change the fact that you support a man who puts children into cages and separates families as a deterrent policy because it has improved your personal finances, and as a fellow human being you might want to reflect further on that.

Regards,

Nothing but a clean resolution should be passed

Period

longer this goes on the worse it is for drumpf, all problems ultimately get blamed on the president/prime minister/leader. everything else is detail which no-one other than political obsessives like us give a **** about

reckon this is why leaders everywhere always bleed approval rating as time goes by

dems hold all the cards

Do you think he really cares about citizenship vs. path to citizenship vs. amnesty for DACA kids? Ask for the sun, moon and the stars. All he cares about is his ****ing wall. And I don't know if the GOP senators are going to be able to stare down a House passed bill with Wall funding if @realdonaldtrump tweets "THE WALL IS FUNDED. PASS THIS BILL. SENATE GOP MUST VOTE YES."
I actually agree with this 100%.

it was a worthwhile discussion. as evidenced by the fact that it is being discussed in the national media right now.

see this is like going into sporting events and saying no reason to discuss the patriots vs the chiefs. everyone nows the pats will win. and then, before the game is even played, claiming victory again.

this is why you are the worst poster here.

It is NOT a worthwhile discussion and has a chance to lead to dems caving if lolpublic’s opinion changes

There would be a legit chance of Nancy getting single payer healthcare for the wall if not for Mitch. But she should still get him to agree to it.

In no world do they get that

The same people who forced trump to shut down the government are angry at a 3 year pause...they will NEVER be ok with citizenship or even legal status for 5.7B

These people are racist pieces of **** that don’t want non-whites in this country

This sings to my demographic heart, but it also suggests that people are very reluctant to update their views given new information (and/or that they are very effective at avoiding new information).
