Actually that means it isn’t politicized and investigates what it thinks is a threat even if one party controls presidency + both halves of congress.

However, the flip side is lack of transparency and oversight, which may be a feature, not a bug, when the people doing the oversight are who they are investigating.

How dumb do you have to be to think the FBI is in the tank for Democrats?

Literal WOAT president WOATING it up hourly but this guy finds it “troubling” that an obvious Russian asset gets looked at by the people whose jobs it is to literally do that sort of thing.

Jill Abramson is back in the news for...her book being a steaming pile of ****, journalistically

Quote:
But early reports from those who spoke with her for the work suggest that may not have been the best title for a book that doesn’t seem to have been subject to even basic fact-checking. As review copies of the book started to circulate, several of the journalists quoted in it have pointed out that it was riddled with factual errors and misreported information, some of which is used to push Abramson’s narrative that the new digital media giants of the early 2010s did everything from recklessly putting reporters in dangerous, hostile environments to prioritizing diversity and a perceived trendiness over reporting qualifications when hiring.
(article goes into many examples of the factual errors she made)

Trump today: "immigrants who show up to their court hearings are dumb and we don't want them here"

That's...a take

I’m sure he was super troubled by Comey throwing the election to Trump with his pointless emailzz announcement too

Best part is most of those guys will be voting Trump again in 2020 despite him and Rs just relentlessly bashing them at every opportunity

Joe Manchin working with some other GOP Senators to come up with a workable solution/end to the shut down.

In other words, he's going to put major pressure on the House by agreeing to a deal that will surely give away way too much in exchange for way too little.

That bipartisan meeting with Manchin also included Coons, Cardin, Sinema, Jones, Kaine, Warner... So about 15% of Senate Dems.

Pumping the brakes a bit on expecting much out of the Mueller report:

Quote:
ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Karl says his sources tell him that Robert Mueller's anticipated report on the special counsel's investigation into Russian election meddling and possible collusion between President Trump's campaign and Moscow is “almost certain to be anti-climactic.”

"There have been expectations that have been building, of course, for over a year," Karl told "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos on Sunday. "But people who are closest to what Mueller has been doing, interacting with the special counsel, caution me that this report is almost certain to be anti-climactic."

"If you look at what the FBI was investigating in that New York Times report, you look at what they were investigating, Mueller did not go anywhere with that investigation," Karl continued. "He has been writing his report in real time through these indictments and we have seen nothing from Mueller on the central question of, was there any coordination, collusion, with the Russians in the effort to meddle in the elections? Or was there even any knowledge on the part of the president or anybody in his campaign with what the Russians were doing, there’s been no indication of that."

Not a shock to me, but I can see a few posters here who will have massive denial on that news, but unfortunately they're drawing dead. It will be nice to have the report over and out with so we can concentrate on actually defeating Trump in 2020 through progressive and populist ideas, not RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA. I'm sure with all the free time from not talking about Russia, Maddow will finally spend her show supporting progressive candidates (NOT!).

Supporting X candidates is not her job.

The good thing about the publication of the Muller report is it will be an amazing read and also the Dems will no longer have the "let's wait and see what the report says" excuse. Still pretty skeptical that there are 15-16 Senate Republicans who will vote for impeachment, sadly.

He is seriously having a candle lit big Mac party for the football team tonight. How cold will those burgers be by the time they eat?
