NYT: F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia

Quote:
In the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests, according to former law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.

The inquiry carried explosive implications. Counterintelligence investigators had to consider whether the president’s own actions constituted a possible threat to national security. Agents also sought to determine whether Mr. Trump was knowingly working for Russia or had unwittingly fallen under Moscow’s influence.
Quote:
Agents and senior F.B.I. officials had grown suspicious of Mr. Trump’s ties to Russia during the 2016 campaign but held off on opening an investigation into him, the people said, in part because they were uncertain how to proceed with an inquiry of such sensitivity and magnitude. But the president’s activities before and after Mr. Comey’s firing in May 2017, particularly two instances in which Mr. Trump tied the Comey dismissal to the Russia investigation, helped prompt the counterintelligence aspect of the inquiry, the people said.

My 2-minute Googling of that San Diego news station says that it is ultra-conservative, like embarrassingly so. Surprise!

The absolute best case scenario, which you have to be an idiot to believe, is that trump is too stupid to realize he was a puppet.

Trump must be tired of paying so much for his adderall. That's the only explanation of why he cares about that.

Surprised the left hasn't already started insisting on abolishing the FBI. What a joke. This was AFTER comey's firing.

They could've literally started this investigation about any point in the last 30 years or so based on how often he spouted off Russia's point of view or whoever he owes money to since the banks shut him off or idk any time during the entire presidential campaign when he wasn't making any secret he knew **** he shouldn't have known unless someone over there told him--I realize the FBI has limited budget but what the hell do they do over there. Other than e-mail investigations.

The WH statement was a total joke. I don't think they realize that it makes Trump look even more guilty (if such a thing is possible).

Walls don’t pay dues. I suspect the unuion opposes most things that don’t lead to dues paying members.

Well, they did say that Trump has been much tougher on Russia than Obama was.

The principal at Haverhill High School in Massachusetts sent an apology out after history teacher Shaun Ashworth asked students to unpack the political topic.

The controversial assignment was titled, “Some People Claim that Donald Trump is a Fascist: Time to Check it Out!”

“I support the president,” Dave Prescott, a parent, told Boston news station WBZ. “I support a lot of the things he does. And for them to talk about fascism, in regard to the president, I just think this isn’t what I’m sending my kids to school for.”

“If you want to talk about an issue, fine, but don’t bring politics into it,” Prescott said.

Boston news station WFXT reported that one parent was upset with the assignment, taking to Facebook to air a complaint. “I have an older child that had the same teacher a couple of years ago. He did not receive the assignment: Why or Why not is Barack Obama a fascist?” the post read.

Now does he feel his title belts hang loose about him, brother.

Totally. McConnell is evil, but he's a genuine adversary. Trump is almost beyond compare in the "played bad, got there" category. Like there's no analogy, Trump is the apex. He's the epitome of "They were who we thought they were, and we let 'em off the hook!" He's the most tilting person I have ever come across in my life.
