Obv. How else will you make a spectacular robbing catch at the wall?

The developer of gold-plated buildings calling that wall "beautiful" is too perfect

It wouldn't be in court for 3 years, 2 years and 10 days tops.

that situation is looking grim.

Don’t worry, it’s after the midterms so Mitch will wait to let the people vote on president before allowing a nomination process.

Not surprised at all

You aren’t worried about how bad declaring it for a non-emergency like this is to build this racist monument but you are worried that it sets precedent that could one day be used to declare an emergency for something real like climate change, health care, people having food to eat, etc

Pretty sure it's the time-traveling aliens from Arrival trying to warn us, and we're too dumb to listen.

Valid reasons to not support Trump declaring an emergency to build the wall:

1. The wall is a racist monument and pointless

2. It’s just plain evil to take money from Puerto Rican aid to fund #1

3. It’s not an emergency

Why some deplorables oppose it:

1. The courts won’t allow it (if the courts would, the deplorables wouldn’t oppose it) so it won’t help them get their monument built

2. It sets a precedent that democrats may use on things that actually help people (bonus bad points if they use it to help non-whites)

4. Declaring a fake emergency to seize powers Congress has explicitly refused to grant you is pretty goddamn authoritarian

Trump says he is not going to declare an emergency "right now"

Quote:
President Trump on Friday threw cold water on the idea of immediately declaring a national emergency to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, reversing days of signals that he might soon declare the emergency amid a protracted standoff with Democrats over a partial shutdown of the federal government.

"What we're not looking to do right now is national emergency," he said Friday afternoon, surrounded by law enforcement officials at a White House roundtable. “I’m not going to do it so fast.”

The president has defiantly said for days he might declare a national emergency to expedite construction of the wall — and his administration has asked agencies to begin preparations.

But he has gotten sharp pushback, even from Republicans, at the notion of declaring such an emergency. His lawyers have privately warned that he could be on shaky footing with such a move, according to people familiar with the discussions.

Yeah, wasn’t an exhaustive list but that’s up there

But anyone giving either of the two reasons in the second list is a trumpet

Of course this latest statement just makes it seem like an even bigger pile of horse **** if/when he actually declares it. "So wait, I thought drugs and guns were pouring in non-stop according to your Texas photo op, did it suddenly get worse?"

Here’s a tip for you

Literally no one cares what you think about anything.

A) "Typical Standard"

B) It looks nicer on the other side.

My goal is to someday be as well respected as you. Teach me how to attack someone you disagree with without adding anything to the discussion pretty please?

idk if this is our version of trying to be like British parliament or something, but Steny Hoyer delivered a SICK BURN on Steve Scalise

Scalise, talking about the border wall and suggesting Trump has a mandate for it:

Quote:
“Obviously the president ran on this as a front and center issue,” Scalise said. “Not only ran on it, but he was elected.”

“There was an election,” Hoyer responded by pointing to the most recent election in which Democrats won the House majority. “That’s why I’m the majority leader and you’re the minority whip.”

How ****ing dumb do you have to be to try that line out after you had control of Congress for two years and did jack ****?

Yeah, I like this a lot. I think it's the best strategy for now - beat Trump over the head until he realizes that he simply doesn't have the votes in the house to ram this stuff through, no matter how much he holds his breath and wet himself. He's thick as a brick though - gonna take some time.

I remember when I bought "Super System" and Brunson wrote about why he was so successful in NLH games - it was pretty much because he was the only guy willing to just go all in all the time - no one else knew what to do, they didn't want to go broke, so they folded and he raked in the chips. Once the secret was out, it didn't work so well any more. I think Trump is the political early Brunson, and the game has caught up to him.

I’m not attacking you

I’m telling you the truth.

No one cares about what you think or do.
