What if we get the regs to use gimmick accounts so it looks like there’s more people?

What does he mean by pages.

By the way I am not going to be deterred to stop talking to trump bot by **** posters who literally only post in this thread to complain about how people post.

Say something of substance or be quiet.

My suggestion was one that would allow non-regulars to be able to get a better idea of what the regular posters in here are like when they are not yelling at the trumpbot or teaming up vs evil visitors or talking about infidelity with Clovis. One poster mentioned how many here have done a lot of volunteer work outside of posting in these threads, and I suggested a thread which listed the type of work everyone did would be a great resource in that it would show the depth of the people that post here, and would also allow those who have done that type of volunteer work to share their experiences so that others could know what is more effective if they want to do work of that type in the future.

I guess that would actually require regs to post more (as they would need to share their experiences in that new thread), not less, but I understand the zing effect you were trying to make with your post, and I appreciate the feedback.

Someday Monty will make a post contributing to the political conversations itf instead of criticism of it but not today.

In addition to England, Great Britain, the UK, the commonwealth or something like that, there needs to be one just for places where people drive on the wrong side of the road.

I'm thinking pages of the Mueller report but not sure.

I think we should start a new thread...

I gave what I believe was a potentially good idea with the thread that would highlight all the good work people here do in the political arena (outside of posting in this forum) to better show those who are not "regs" some of the things they can do, and what type of volunteer work is more effective than what other type of volunteer work. I think that would be something that can be shown to any potential poster who comes here to demonstrate that the people here are more than just voices screaming on the internet. If you think this is an utterly horrible idea - that is fair, feel free to explain why that is. You are the 4th or 5th guy to post the "hey guys, look at how bad Monteroy is" post, so that train you joined has most of the seats taken. While you may still earn a supportive slap on the shoulder for that, feel free to answer my question though, as I would appreciate your feedback.

Is this idea as "direct" a contribution as me joining the crowd in trying to get a good comeback to a trump tweet? Perhaps not, but I think it would value the forum in the long term if it was done. I assume you and others think differently, and as I said before - it is your house, you guys can decorate it as you see fit, so long as you follow the rules of the person who owns the house.

I dont agree with you that this forum just screams at the internet. There is political content even in the trump thread.

Maybe start a new thread with your ideas to better the forum you yourself dont make better with political content posts.

What do you call a person who goes into a forum in which they don't generally post just to talk about how bad that forum is?

And yet one more vapid post

Trump's cheats are so numerous and obvious that they get boring, especially when no one seems to be able to do anything about them. Once in a while, I still get surprised though.

I have a friend who absolutely hates goats. I used to occasionally send her interesting goat news items but had to stop when it really started to piss her off.

**** the anecdote haters.

Does it have something to do with bridges?

Sometimes the screaming is toward Clovis or other posters that are not welcome.

That's the thing - this needs to be started by an accepted reg. If I or someone else not on the invitation list started it (even if it is a good idea - which is something you have avoided commenting on), it would simply be met with personal attacks and/or dismissive comments such as

Perhaps you did not understand that that is how it would play out if I started the thread with that idea, but now that you do, you can also comment on whether you think the thread idea where people can share their volunteer history is a good or bad or even a vapid idea. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Yeah. I think he's probably talking about the Mueller report. So far they've gotten zero pages. I guess he thinks they should be satisfied with that.

CNN reporting trump ordering his chief of staff to fire the secret service director is classic trump. He literally is a giant coward. I can’t even believe he was able to do the scripted your fired’s. I never watched the show Are we sure those weren’t filmed separately with no one else in the room and then spliced in.

And sometimes there is political content. Maybe you will contribute someday instead of adding to the non political content.

Thats not how it would go. If you started a thread about political activism and left the digs at posters and the forum out it would be fine. Thought we already had one of those? If you do your normal no political content critique of the mean leftist bubble. Well yeah.

The occasional meta-discussion may be a good thing. When I first started lurking 2+2 (both before and after I made an account) I would stop by and see what was going on in the Politics Forum.

From my outside vantage point, I was struck by the preponderance of posters and posts from a Libertarian/AC perspective. Many threads and discussions were driven by the AC gang (not to say that there wasn't a bunch of vigorous discussions). I did not possess the energy, passion, or desire to join in on those discussions since it seemed that adding one more voice to the "other side" in an attempt to swim upstream against the raging forum zeitgeist would not alter anything and would be personally unsatisfying.

Today's forum zeitgeist is much different, of course. Many of the reasons why a politics forum would be vastly changed from 2008-2010 to 2017-2019 are obvious. But many of the same "outsider" viewpoints remain. I suppose non-regulars may feel today what I felt 10 years ago. But that is not a failing of the forum.

People with different perspectives are welcome and encouraged to post as much or as little as they choose. They probably will not be able to "win" as many of the debates as they think they deserve on the merits, but vigorous discussions are guaranteed, and that is a key to a successful internet forum.

More gaslighting.

How’s your death-match with your fictional opponent going?
