Good job demanding 6 years of returns, but, uh, how about all of them going back to when Fred started all the cheating?

From NYT

Quote:
Some of Robert S. Mueller III’s investigators have told associates that Attorney General William P. Barr failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated, according to government officials and others familiar with their simmering frustrations.
Quote:
Mr. Barr has come under criticism for sharing so little. But according to officials familiar with the attorney general’s thinking, he and his aides limited the details they revealed because they were worried about wading into political territory.
Sure.

Shocker.

I've seen a bunch of Trump morons saying "Where is Mueller, huh, if Barr's summary is wrong? He corrected the Buzzfeed article, but not here, chessmate!" Now they'll just forget that "point", of course.

Unfortunately it can only be converted into electoral power, and there still might be an unlimited supply.

I am so shocked that Trump’s handpicked AG would sugar coat the report

Just flabbergasted

So this is basically a play to provide Nadler and House Dems with a little more leverage in the court of public opinion right? To feed into the news cycle as they begin the process of going for subpoenas? It's also a bit of a shot across the bow at Barr that if he wants to try to really cover this up, he's in for a fight.

Mueller submitted "multiple summaries" already according to that article, Barr ignored them. Barr's worse than you thought, which should have been pretty bad (HINT: there were some HINTS he'd be bad)

I guess, but if you think any Republican official gives a single **** about the court of public opinion, I have a bridge to sell you.

Of course not, but this isn't just about Republican officials. This is about Dems vs. the Barr DOJ in court, and how the public perceives that battle.

Least surprising revelation of all time

If you think there is an appreciable difference between a republican official and a conservative judge or justice, I have a bridge to sell you.

I don't think any of this influences judges at all, but I do think Roberts is sane enough to make a sane ruling.

Where this matters is in how the public perceives Democrats' fighting to get the full report, and that influences the amount of backbone Dems will have in fighting for it.

That came out in February. It wasn't specifically stated that it was foreign business conflicts, but it wasn't hard to read between the lines:

Quote:
It is not known precisely what factors led to the problems with Mr. Kushner’s security clearance. Officials had raised questions about his own and his family’s real estate business’s ties to foreign governments and investors, and about initially unreported contacts he had with foreigners.

And finally, if I can respond to something that I know from personal experience. I’ve known President Trump for many years, and to allude to him, or to his people — his team, some of whom I’ve known for many years, too. Can I reveal, Jared, how long we’ve known you? (Laughter.) Well, he was never small. He was always big. He was always tall.
wow i can't believe jared kushner wasn't objectively the best most unbiased person to represent the united states in mid-east diplomacy. i was totally fooled this whole time
