Let's just hurry the **** up with Trump's tax returns since there is like 99% chance of something illegal in them.

This is a drum Matt Yglesias likes to beat every so often, but the owners, execs, and biggest personalities at all the cable news shops are all multi-millionaires. Aside from what gets ratings, they're personally incentivized to see Trump remain in power.

Sater testimony is delayed. Probably until never.
Senate blocks bill to release full report.
Memo goes out to blackball dem talkers.
Tons of MSM just swallows the lede as given by Rs.

The coverup is on in full conceal mode.

You still think the Dems are going to successfully subpoena for those before 2020? That's cute.

Remember when they were going to do it right away? First order of business and all? Well it's March 25, and they aren't even talking about it. It isn't going to happen.

After this most recent news I am finally on board with the "nothing matters, WAAF" train.

But them going hard to conceal is just a bad look and is probably good news as far as what the report contains - and the fact this stuff will come out years from now, it'll be pretty damning, and you'll get to make fun of every single smug ****er that backed this clown for the rest of eternity. That's my dream - I've given up on everything else.
03-25-2019 , 06:10 PM
Also I've held off mostly on posting until I got over the shock of it, I am calm now.

Seriously massive L O ****ING L at every conservative, here or outside, rushing to spike the football on a report that no one's seen, is likely full of circumstantial damning stuff that makes you look incredibly dumb, etc.

Like congrats? Best case scenario is we don't have a President compromised by a hostile foreign power (which conservatives don't even care about anyway if it were true), the libs get pwned for like 1 news cycle which in today's age is what 28 minutes? And the prize - a non-compromised, incompetent president that serves hamberders to any obscure sport team actually willing to visit him, has massive vacancies in large parts of government, has singlehandedly alienated all of our allies and diminished the US on the world stage, can barely even talk coherently, and has accomplished absolutely nothing good in two years and is a virtual lock to continue doing so. Oh yea and as an added bonus the united states is daily committing acts of genocide.

Congrats, libs confirmed pwned. Like honestly just from reading the GOP posters reaction to this screams that they were desperate for some kind of win.

We are not on the losing side guys, remember that.

Mueller just wanted to make it a respectable length of time past the midterms then dump the report late on a Friday before a weekend like March Madness when most people wouldn't be paying attention

Don't forget : 'SEE NO COLLUSION. NOW SHUTDOWN ALL THE OTHER DEMOCRAT WITCHHUNT INVESTIGATIONS.'

Going forward, we are going to be hearing that as much as we've been hearing about the Mueller WITCHHUNT.

I think Dave is correct here. Watergate is ultimately a reassuring story about how the Bad Man got caught and our system of checks and balances worked as intended. It's the kind of thing you can teach in history class.

But Watergate was a huge anomaly as far as presidential lawbreaking goes. We just happened to have Nixon on tape explicitly telling people to lie to the feds and there was also enough bipartisan sentiment to throw him out. Iran-Contra is probably going to be the norm, where everyone knows the president is recklessly breaking the law but there's no smoking gun proof so we just lock up a few flunkies and call it a day.

Ya if only we could get the president on tape requesting Russia hack his opponent. Damn wouldn't that be a nice piece of evidence to have. Oh wait.

It’s really time for the rest of the world to simply give up on the US. Nearly every aspect of your political, social, moral and economic foundations are broken and there appears to be zero appetite to fix any of it.

I already see the media acting like Trump is just a normal president now that he had been totally vindicated.

Post is two years late.

Line on Trump pardoning everyone has to be like 99.9%.

It has to be on a secret tape so that we know he actually meant it. He obviously doesn't mean most of what he says in public. Also, gotta love how he always tells it like it is!

There's plenty of appetite to fix it. Those with the appetite lack the power to fix it, and we do not have the appetite to have a civil war over it.

Democrats have had the house for three months and done basically nothing but cower and capitulate.

Let's pretend they filed impeachment charges the second they took power, what would be different now?

They don’t need to do that symbolic crap. They need to suponea

His tax returns
Trump orgs entire financial infrastructure
Jr
Ivanka
Kurchner
Orange nazi
All the cabinet members who have a LONG history of corruption (which is all of them)

Don’t let ANY of them testify in-camera. Make it all public. If they refuse to answer charge them.

Pass a massive corruption bill. EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Make the senate turn it down over and over.

Refuse EVERY SINGLE thing asked by republicans. Every detail, procedure, request for coffee funding. Everything! Until the above is complete.

There wasn't any sentiment to throw Nixon out until after the impeachment process started in the house. It was seen pretty much as Trump is, partisan bickering who knows what to believe.
03-25-2019 , 08:04 PM
Also we have no new news on this story since he's been exonerated.

oh of course we do

You may have forgotten about Felix here, he hasn't been seen for a few seasons.

wtf do I know about how **** works but this sounds good to me. And **** the media's reaction. Look for angles and norms to break if advantageous because otherwise reps will just get there first. **** it, two tits for every tat. Let's party. ****ing crush them BEFORE violence becomes necessary.

They should pass HR1 and Medicare for All over and over, but the whole caucus doesn't even necessarily support Medicare for All. They should subpoena the taxes and all that, as well as Jr, Ivanka and Kushner.

They should demand the full Mueller report, as well.

If they go much beyond that in terms of investigations/subpoenas, they'll be basically guaranteeing the world a second term (or more) of Trump.

And what am I supposed to do? Perhaps find a respected Democratic member of Congress who chairs a committee and yell at him at a protest in the middle of his speech telling him to do more? Call my members of Congress and complain?

Oh wait, I did those things.

Perhaps tell others what a joke the party has become? Check my posting history, you'll find me ranting and raving about the DNC.

Am I supposed to take to the streets and riot over the Democrats? We can't even get people to take to the streets to peacefully protest the Republicans throwing kids in cages.
