A lot of middle schoolers are awful sociopaths. Most of them grow out of it. Trump is developmentally disabled.

Trump does seem to be increasingly unhinged. Now he's trying to make some connection between winning an election and having someone (who never got a vote) writing a report on him. What sense does that make?

Trump can't stop attacking McCain.

"I gave him the kind of funeral that he wanted—which as president I had to approve. I don't care about this. I didn't get a thank you. That's okay."

Not that anyone takes the most powerful man in the world seriously but I graphed the states by population and the absolute value of the partisan voting index:

As you can see there is actually a negative correlation between the two. The truth of the Electoral College is that it marginalizes the votes of (most) smaller states in favor of (some) larger ones. Assuming it is at all close, the 2020 election will be decided by turnout in the cities of those five most upper leftmost dots.

It is true that the Electoral College is racist and undemocratic by design and it happens to have helped the more racist and undemocratic party in a couple recent elections. But that is a coincidence and an accident of boundary issues. It could very easily have the opposite effect next time. I have a feeling that a lot of folks' opinions about it would change in that circumstance.

Nothing wins wars 100 years ago better than tanks

The only chance that the electoral college gets repealed is if a Democrat loses the popular vote but wins the EC.

It has turned into yet another partisan issue and because the barrier to change is so high then it's unlikely to happen. Even through the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

Yeah, I feel like for it to happen via the compact, so many state legislatures would have to flip to blue that it would have to occur via a huge demographic shift, which would probably mean the end of the GOP in the White House anyway.

Amazing how Trump gets to take credit for actions that would have happened no matter who was in office.

I think that's probably where we're headed. It's just a matter of the scale on which it happens. But after the next Democrat wins, we're going to see another huge uptick in right wing terrorism/violence.

He also said he wants to "get rid of" all Democrats and start the country over from scratch. I'm not sure if he wants to kill us, jail us, or deport us. I asked for some clarification...

I'm going to have to stop looking inside the bubble, it's too scary/depressing.
lol we can hope something like this goes down

I can't remember: has he ever come right out and said something like, "I trust our US intelligence agencies when they support my beliefs, when I don't like what they tell me I don't believe them."
03-20-2019 , 05:44 PM
pretty much:

Quote:
MARGARET BRENNAN: So you're going to trust the intelligence that you receive?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I am going to trust the intelligence that I'm putting there, but I will say this: my intelligence people, if they said in fact that Iran is a wonderful kindergarten, I disagree with them 100 percent.
Quote:
MARGARET BRENNAN: You disagree with that assessment?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: --I have intel people, but that doesn't mean I have to agree. President Bush had intel people that said Saddam Hussein--

03-20-2019 , 05:51 PM
Yeah that's pretty much it. God the way he answers those questions, "I am going to trust the intelligence that I'm putting there."

MARGARET BRENNAN: Mr. President, are you stupid? Are you a stupid man?

Trump: I'm probably the least stupidest man you have ever met. I don't have a stupid bone in my body--the opposite. Smart bones, some say the smartest of any president, you won't report that, but that's okay.
