737s don't just get automatic OTA updates like your phone. FAA certifies every bolt and every bit of code before it goes into service.

Paging lawbros to breathlessly tell us how bad that is followed by absolutely nothing happening.

Probably explains Guiliani's disappearance.

I checked Trump's Twitter for his first mention of collusion and I found some neat projection:

Later the day of that tweet Papadopoulos emailed Sessions "Have some interesting messages coming in from Moscow about a trip when the time is right."

Two days later Trump, Sessions, and Kushner are shaking hands with the Russian ambassador.

I can't tell if this is the soft bigotry of low expectations or if they're just trying to hype up non-events because it helps with ratings and clicks. From an article about the Yemen vote today:

Quote:
The measure is expected to pass the House in the coming weeks, and it could pose a difficult test for Trump. More than two years into his presidency, Trump has yet to use his veto power.
"difficult test"? LOL he will veto it, it won't be overturned and that's it. What's so difficult about that? Same with the silly anti-emergency resolution.

Usually buying a company who has recent bad news but you can't think of why they wouldn't rebound is an easy winning trade but the stock is still decently above two months ago. :/ Should be some carnage here when other countries also ground the planes but it's the stock market where it's mostly lol nothing matters.

Newsom's executive order appears to be going farther than just saying "no executions on my watch":

Quote:
Newsom will suspend the practice through an executive order that will give a reprieve from execution — though not release — to California’s 737 death row inmates, about a quarter of the nation’s population awaiting capital punishment. The order will also annul California’s lethal injection protocol and close the execution chamber at San Quentin State Prison, where the state’s most notorious criminals have been put to death.

What's with the colon? His legal name is simply Big Matthew Whitaker.

Newsom continually going head to head with Trump really makes me think he may pull the trigger on a 2020 run

Why do people always talk about the victims? Why should the victim of a crime (or their relatives/friends) have any say in the punishment? In the legal system if you have any relation to any of the parties involved you have to recuse yourself so if they can't pass a fair and honest judgement then the victims and their kin certainly can't.

i never understood this either. this was the worst part of being a prosecutor. i constantly had to tell victims that i was not their attorney. it's also probably why i didn't last very long in my red state where everyone wants a larger eye for their eye.

The point is to be a bit provocative and inflammatory. The death penalty in the US AORN is basically some (mostly southern) DAs winning elections by making a show out of killing a black dude a few times a year.
