The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter

You are already food to your dog. It’s just waiting.

No one owns a dog.
03-05-2019 , 12:59 PM
If my dead body was lying around for many days and my dog was starving, I wouldn't give a **** if she started eating me, esp if it kept her alive long enough for someone to find her/us.

also why is the thread about this lol

It's more comforting than talking about the state of our nation.

i'm gonna live forever

I don't begrudge my dog the meal. It would be bad for things going forward I think with the family and the dog if they walked in on that scene though.

Dog wouldn't starve without me.

I assumed that "making America great again" would naturally entail legislation mandating that your family and pets die with you. Has Trump made no movement on this yet?

There was a woman I think in France who attempted suicide with pills and was very deeply unconscious and her dog ate part of her. Not a pitbull either. Something like a golden retriever.

IIRC she was the first face transplant recipient, yeah.

Maybe the cool posters snuck off to a secret slack channel or subreddit and didn’t tell us.

Dems absolutely need to nominate an incredibly boring ultra-moderate to combat this, it's the only way to beat him.

Trump showing where his priorities are: While he invites the D1-AA football champs to the White House for the first time since 1995, he hasn't extended a solo invite to a women's championship team at all in his presidency, something the past 3 presidents did regularly

Quote:
Not a single women’s championship team has made a solo visit to the White House under Trump, although several women’s teams participated in an event in 2017 during which Trump celebrated numerous men’s and women’s college champions in nonrevenue sports.

The past two WNBA champions, the Minnesota Lynx in 2017 and the Seattle Storm in 2018, were not invited.

Nor was the Notre Dame women’s basketball team, which won the NCAA title in 2018 before a crowd of 19,599 — more than the number, 17,802, who attended North Dakota’s football title game in January.
Quote:
Every women’s college basketball champion was invited to the White House since 1983 before Trump took office, spanning five presidents.

My theory is that his advisors know that he absolutely will not be able to keep from making some hideously inappropriate remarks about the girls' bodies or something while he rambles on trying to congratulate them, so they just don't remind him that it's even a thing. Trump surely would have no awareness of women's sports on his own.
03-05-2019 , 01:54 PM
Would any women's basketball team agree to go? Seems very unlikely.

Right after that last came up I signed up for reddit to create a subreddit, but they make you jump through more hoops than an OOT beauty contest.

Nah I think it's simpler than that. More women are likely to turn down the offer and make the news. Trumps dumb but some of his entourage don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Signing up is easy but they have bot prevention stuff that probably keeps new accounts from starting subreddits.

Maybe he just thinks he'll have to spend more on food.

T-Mobile has spent 195k at Trump’s DC hotel in last ten months while lobbying for sprint merger.

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...sprint-merger/

T-Mobile says that is 14% of their DC lodging and meeting budget, but funny enough they started staying there the day after the merger and could only provide one single visit to the hotel prior to that.

Also note obnoxious Legere swore off Trump hotels in 2015 after trump bashed T-Mobile service.

I'm a couple days late to the Jane Mayer article, but this is quite a "how times have changed" anecdote:

Quote:
At the height of the Tea Party rebellion, Ailes reprimanded Hannity for violating the line between journalism and politics. Hannity had arranged to tape his evening Fox show at a Tea Party fund-raiser in Ohio. When Ailes learned of the plan, only hours before the event, he demanded that Hannity cancel his appearance. According to a former Fox executive, Ailes then blew up at Bill Shine, who had authorized Hannity’s trip. “Roger was livid, and ripped the **** out of Shine,” the former executive says, recalling that Ailes yelled, “No one at Fox is shilling for the Tea Party!” Afterward, Shine released a statement criticizing Hannity’s actions. And Murdoch, at a panel about the news, expressed a similar view, saying, “I don’t think we should be supporting the Tea Party or any other party.”
lol

Isn't Trump in a unique position though as a president that has this vast wealth and hotels? Can you blame him for them doing that? If I was lobbying Trump I would and make damn sure he knows about it.

Now what he has been accused of doing with countless other ways he has financially benefitted are corrupt.

If the Starbucks guy runs and wins at least all you have to do is show up with a cup of coffee
