The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter

It's hard to believe that Trump would admit to doing anything poorly. He must have meant that Kim walked away because of the Cohen hearing.

Trump setting the stage for his next national emergency order to end all investigations because they are threatening national security.

Well someone setting the stage. We all know Trump can't walk and chew gum at this point.

Trump's saying or rather parroting what someone else said: that his bargaining position was undermined by the disrespect shown him by House Dems when they held the hearing the same day as the summit. He was humiliated and the only move he had left to save some face was to walk away.

Of course, he probably doesn't understand that's what the guy he plagiarized is saying because he's a dumb****.

Don't think I saw this posted: NYT with details on how the Hanoi summit failed

Quote:
In a dinner at the Metropole Hotel the evening before, mere feet from the bomb shelter where guests took cover during the Vietnam War, Mr. Kim had resisted what Mr. Trump presented as a grand bargain: North Korea would trade all its nuclear weapons, material and facilities for an end to the American-led sanctions squeezing its economy.

An American official later described this as “a proposal to go big,” a bet by Mr. Trump that his force of personality, and view of himself as a consummate dealmaker, would succeed where three previous presidents had failed.

But Mr. Trump’s offer was essentially the same deal that the United States has pushed — and the North has rejected — for a quarter-century. Intelligence agencies had warned him, publicly, Mr. Kim would not be willing to give up the arsenal completely. North Korea itself had said repeatedly that it would only move gradually.

Several of Mr. Trump’s own aides, led by national security adviser John R. Bolton and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, thought the chances of a grand bargain for total nuclear disarmament were virtually zero. Some questioned whether the summit meeting should go forward.

Mr. Trump disagreed. He had taken to showing what he called Mr. Kim’s “beautiful letters” to visitors to the Oval Office, as evidence he had built a rapport with one of the world’s most brutal dictators. While some in the White House worried Mr. Trump was being played, the president seemed entranced — even declaring “we fell in love.”
lmao he completely believes his own bull****

It’s funny because I suspect Trump’s people purposefully scheduled this faux summit to be on the same day as the Cohen hearing.

Yes, it’s called a subpoena duces tecum. Also, good luck on relying on the media to try to distinguish whether these are unofficial document requests preceding a subpoena, or subpoenas duces tecum.

suggesting that cohen's testimony may have led him in any way to "walk" from the failed KJU summit is perhaps the most pathetic beta-cuck thing he's ever said on twitter, and he's had many of those moments

Fox News has always been partisan. But has it become propaganda?

There should be a new version of the question mark for rhetorical questions.

FYP.

I always thought it was fishy how collected and prepared he seemed during the debates. If he knew the questions in advance, he could have scripted that response where he bragged about his dick size.

Some will rightly point to hypocrisy, but to the the real story is: FNC gave him the debate questions and he still gave those answers!?!

It's not even a story. It's just who he is, super obvious. That's why I want to see his transcripts and SAT scores. He's so pathologically incapable of preparation that you could tell him all the questions that will appear on a test and he'll still fail.

Most the audience doesn't care about sincere answers to any of those questions, anyway. Almost no one believes a word or has any interest at all, really. Being crude and always on message ("build the wall") on some things while spouting gibberish the rest of the time seems optimal.

I need to recharge the batteries after this week, after the MC hearings I must admit its starting to take a toll on me.

It's tough watching Mr NDA's not get challenged on all the shows tbh.

I think the new rule changes here has also taken its toll, it seems some posters have also moved on.

Can I actually stay away, lol I doubt it.

Today I turned on NPR and they had some Bush era slapdick going on and on about how none of Trumps lying or cheating matters because GOP voters love him and I just turned on a sports podcast and instantly felt way better. I think I’m done following this **** day to day, it’s too upsetting and there is nothing I can do about it.
