Just the dumbest president

Bolton is a very poor Trump-to-English translator.

You can tell by his mannerisms and the way he smirks as he gropes the flag he has no respect it. Not that i think we should be worshiping the flag but for those that are in the no kneeling crowd the disrespect is obvious.

True. But to be fair, when I heard "Cohen wrote a book", my brain automatically converted to "Cohen's ghostwriter wrote a book", which is exactly how Trump's books get written. So, I'd assume when Trump says someone "wrote" a book, that's what he means. Because from Trump's perspective, that's how books are written.

Of course, if he was seriously suggesting that Cohen wrote an entire manuscript himself, then you're correct. No ****ing way that happened.

If I were Don Jr. or Ivanka, on the eve of probable indictment, and after looking incredibly stupid getting caught in lies every time I’ve spoken publicly, I don’t think I’d be doing more interviews.

The whole "finish the wall" thing is some crazy 1984 ****.

Quote:
This was the first time this idea was introduced, the idea that the wall did not need to be begun. It did not need to be built. It needed to be finished. When I got to the Coliseum parking lot Cruz was speaking on the big screen, and all around him Trump fans were holding signs they’d been given when they entered the building. These signs read “Finish the Wall”.
Quote:
And though this deal was not done, and again, no wall construction had begun anywhere, the Trump campaign tonight had introduced the idea of finishing the wall they had not begun constructing. And conveniently, in the hazy world of Trump’s facts and numbers, the $1.3 bn he was likely to get from Congress appeared to be enough to finish the project. The missing $4.4 bn no longer mattered. It did not matter, either, that none of the wall that he’d promised had been erected. Or that Mexico would not pay for it. Or that any wall that did get built would not look like the concrete curtain he had originally envisioned. Now, Trump’s audience was happily participating in a real-time revision of reality, one in which the wall was just … about … done.
Trumpism is a cult that taps into people's base instincts, their fears, their desire for power, the desire to dominate. And how do you snap people out of it? Is it going to take a major shock to the system, like a damaging war or economic crisis?

trump went in private convo with kim and said, "listen, i've always wanted to stop these military drills, they cost a lot of money and putin agrees it's needlessly provocative, so i'm with you guys on that. now please, pretty please, hand over all your nuclear weapons."

Broken clock is right twice a day. Military drills with SK are a stupid waste of money and needlessly provocative.

The above says "document requests" and the ABCNews interview with Nadler talked of subpoenas - does anyone know which it is/is there a difference and can either be ignored/challenged/tied up in the courts?

I'm all for sending the troops home but disagree with this one--SK is a good ally* and really the only one in the region.

*only if Trump isn't president then all hail dear leader Kim Jong Un, the rightful king of SK.

IANAL, but I think "document request" is just them being polite and if you ignore it you get slapped with a subpoena.

I think you can also subpoena documents in particular as well as people to come testify, so the distinction may be there.
