Trump has more experience negotiating one-sided denuclearization of the Korean peninsula than anyone

Yeah he has given away pretty much everything obtained. It was crazy for him to have the first meeting without significant concessions in advance. To have another one after getting clowned the first time would be insane for anyone else not named Trump.

This is the problem with this stupid deal making mythology he has about himself. To him any deal is better than no deal, at the end of the day. He just wants to point at a deal being made. If the other party can show minor subordination he is ecstatic. Except situations like North Korea are the ones you precisely do not make a deal with just to make a deal. You don’t even make a deal to meet to talk about a deal until they make massive concessions.

Of course Trump doesn’t understand any of this. Just like the stupid shutdown. His goal in any conflict is to make a deal. That is why he sometimes makes these all or nothing opening salvos because he knows he will make a deal (often a very bad one giving up way too much).

It is gross. Nobody except trump thinks we were going to be at war with north Korea following the Obama path.

North Korea has just halved food rations(rice, wheat, potatos) for its population to 300g a day. Due to a bad harvest they have a shortfall of about 1-1.5 million tons. Maybe for the first time ever they have requested assistance from the UN. The US is in an unprecedented position of power in these negotiations. This takes a complete imbecile to not get major concessions from North Korea. [Enter Donald Trump]

Maybe I’m a softie, but I don’t really like the idea of using widespread famine as a bargaining chip.

Plus, NK would rather starve their people than give up their nuke program. They'll never turn on him no matter how many die of starvation. Kim Jong Il made teeny tiny concessions in the past for food but nothing significant enough to celebrate.

Feeding north korea's citizens for them and asking/demanding nothing in return isn't exactly a good option though.

I can imagine a Trump deal...

All KJU asked for was for rice. He bought out a chess board and put 1 grain on the first square, 2 on the second, 4 on the third ...

1. Bigger is an old.
2. I think he means specifically what is a drove and how did it come to signify a lot.

Lol, let's take a silly comment and use it to insult someone.

There are a metric **** ton of things to make fun of Trump for, so when you make fun of him for using normal English correctly you deserve some payback.

Yeah, you're right. Enjoy your day.

Knowing it's meaning I did puzzle as to its origin myself - but then I googled it (top tip) - and it's along the lines of large groups of things (eg cattle) being driven hence drove.

The groups of animals naming oddities is great as well - a murder of crows being my favourite

I still can't forget getting supposedly the easiest (first) analogy question on an SAT sample wrong.

Prompt was:
School:fish

and answer was:
stand:trees

I was just like wtf even when I saw the answer.
