While almost all of you folks are fixating on the completely useless Donkeys, working folk are making independent plans to nip this shutdown crap in the bud.

Speaking of the completely useless Donkeys... if they give anything away at all, including even one cent for the deadly, environmentally disastrous, and racist "wall" they should all be enticed to emigrate to the surface of the sun. Why are they not all out promoting this general strike instead of whatever the nonsense they are doing now ???/?

Spoiler:
Because they are really on the same side as the Elephants

Maybe Einbert and you can form the 2p2 Workers' Party.

The “both sides are the same!” shtick is edgelord bull**** that empowers the right.

Also this. There is a huge difference between the parties regardless of when they ocassionally agree on some things.

IDK if this is in response to my post.

But yes, the fact that both "sides" are on the same side does indeed empower the right. This is a perfect example. If the Donkeys "reach across the isle" and do that "West Wing" thingee and "compromise" with the Elephants for say 2$B in "wall"... that's a 2$B win for the right.

If the Donkeys don't wanna be called out for being on the "same side"... well they would need to stop actually being on the same side. Actions speak. Just that simple.

Again, this is a perfect example. The last shutdown went on for weeks, until the Air Traffic Controllers wildcatted. Now the Flight Attendants are calling for a general strike. If the Donkeys don't wanna be called out for being on the "same side"... well they would have to actually change what side they are on. Here's their chance. Let's see what they do...

(a) stay on the same side & play "West Wing" w/the Elephants.
(b) change sides, and promote this call for a general strike.

c) "democratically" elect Einbert and MD as Dear Leaders

Why the **** would Dems give any money to the frigging wall. Trump will just see the concession as sign of weakness.

I remember in college the lefty newsletter always insisted on calling the USA the “UNITED $NAKE$ OF AMERIKKKA.” No one ever took those guys seriously, even the far-left folks. MissileDog: gl fighting the system when your dumb edgy writing tics actively prevent anyone but einbert from listening to you.

Those guys are positively indistinguishable from the Democrats!

i like how he's already shifted the narrative from "build the wall" to "finish the wall". like he's taking credit for starting to build it already and ow its just a matter of putting the finishing touches on it.

Einbert won't listen to MD. He should, but he won't.

Shame_Trolley is making a good point about the wall though. Why wouldn't the Dems just support something like the strike which seemed so effective before?

Newsflash: El Chapo guilty! Also, Trump still president.

Just to reiterate: it's redicous to imagine that we are 'doing' politics here in Politardia. See: the reason Trump won was certain posters here were "yelling and screaming" the r-word. Instead, what we are doing is chatting around a virtual watercooler... simply for our own amusement.

First, I really doubt that we'll be seeing shutdowns for a while going forward. Last time their were several actions by TSA that almost reached critical mass. Then the air traffic controller's stopped the shutdown in less 24 hours.

Here is the left & right of things...

Left: working folks exerting organized power. This is the definition of being "left".

Right: Ignoring, minamizing working folks successful actions, while fruadently taking credit for their "West wing" shinanagines solving anything. Which side have the Donkeys been on?

Left: wages not being paid is wrong, full stop. This is not up for compromise. The politicians must be taught that if they mess with our wages we will shut your whole system. Every time -and- on day one.

Right: messing with wages is just another "fair game" tactic in the grand "west wing" song and dance we do as Donkeys and Elephants. Any call to take this arrow out of our respective quarrels would make harder to "reach across the isle" and "compromise"/etc/etc.

Right now, if either of the main parties advocate for the general strike, it would effectively make this whole shutdown tactic in unviable
Which side are the Donkeys on?

Left: the "wall" is a deadly humanitium disaster, an environmental disaster, and overtly racist. There is no compromise with this kinda thing. I need

Right: Let's get a committee together so we can compromise. Which side are the Donkeys on.

I believe most of the strikes are illegal, especially wildcats. Or at least violations of NLRB regs iirc. If I'm right, I can see not opening that particular wormcan.

On the other hand a little civil disobedience never hurt anyone eh?
