The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter

The transcript is bonkers. I couldn’t make it past the first third or so.

Asked when he knows it's time to fire someone, Mr. Trump said, "When it's not happening ... when it doesn't get done." Without prompting, he pointed to his former defense secretary, James Mattis.

"Like with General Mattis, I wasn't happy with his service. I told him, 'Give me a letter,'" he told Brennan, who pointed out that Mattis had resigned.

"He resigned because I asked him to resign," Mr. Trump said. "He resigned because I was very nice to him. But I gave him big budgets and he didn't do well in Afghanistan. I was not happy with the job he was doing in Afghanistan. And if you look at Syria what's happened. I went to Iraq recently, if you look at Syria, what's happened in Syria in the last few weeks, you would see that things are going down that were not going down. That things are happening that are very good. So I was not happy with him, but I wish him well."
That whole thing is cray cray nonsense. None of it makes any sense. Especially on the heels of him talking about how amazing we have done in all those same places right before he said all that.

Also looks like it's locked now, so maybe the good stuff got expunged.

MARGARET BRENNAN: I want to ask you about your relationship with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Have- have you put your differences aside?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I think so. I mean I- I was just one that felt very important, you can't be kneeling for the national anthem. You have to respect our flag and our country. I want that as president and I'd want that as a citizen. And I have a very good relationship. I did them a big favor in negotiating the USMCA, which is basically the replacement to NAFTA, which is one of the worst trade deals ever made. And I said to Canada, look we have a great American company known as the NFL, and they were being hurt and treated unfairly, the NFL, by Canada for a long time. And I said to Prime Minister Trudeau, who was very nice about it and really understood it, I hope you can settle the difference immediately and fast. And they did. So I did the NFL a big favor, as a great American company and they appreciated it. And Roger Goodell, this is a dispute that has gone on for years. Roger Goodell called me and he thanked me. And I appreciated that. But they haven't been kneeling and they have been respecting the flag and their ratings have been terrific ever since. And a lot of good things happened.
63 million people voted for this idiot.

I’m not much into sportball but I didn’t know we had an NFL team here in Canada or any interest in the NFL at all, for that matter.
02-03-2019 , 12:37 PM
I read that 3x thinking there was some obvious transition or connection between the NFL topic and Canada that I was missing. But there wasn't.

There was a thing with the NFL and Canada: Patriots owner pushed Trump to help NFL with trade issue: report
02-03-2019 , 12:42 PM
You know what else they don't have in Canada? A POTUS.

How long until Goodell comes out and says he never called Trump to thank him? Or does the commish keep his mouth shut on this?

Goodell would do this if he cared what the players think. But he doesn't. His job is to care what the owners think. And while there are a handful that are clearly anti-Trump, it's not enough for Goodell to bring that up.

If he knows this much why doesn't he know about concussion issues in soccer?

Soccer? This is going to drive the deplorables up the wall.

I was going to pull some quotes but it's all complete nonsense. Why in the world do they let him do these interviews?
40% of the country thinks they don't have to believe the consensus of climate scientists because reasons. So why would Trump think he has to believe a few old career military dudes?

It's 2019 man, your beliefs are just as valid as my facts.

Lots of deplorables (but not all) on chiefsplanet say the same thing. Football is becoming like boxing - for poor people only. Unless you're a QB.

He might as well said that Barron goes to school in El Salvador.

I would absolutely love to live in a world where trump was no longer allowed to speak in front of people, in front of a camera or any kind of recording device, that his voice was never heard in public and that everything he said could only be relayed by transcripts

My god this man is a rambling imbecile lunatic

That looks like Ozzy rules.

I heard the reason they have sleeveless shirts is because there's no point as they wouldn't last the game anyway.

It may well be - another psycho game.
02-03-2019 , 04:17 PM
It is. Pretty awesome sport though

Yeah, giving this more reflection, it's clear that football has long since become a sport where young black men smash into each other for deplorable-friendly entertainment. It's not a contradiction for people to follow the sport but also insist that their kids play soccer instead.

Hard to tell from the gif but it looks like he's doing the fencing pose there indicating serious brain damage. You know what happened to the player?
